it's hard to do when you come on here and argue with us with your own personal opinion as dogma
I have no idea where you got that from, and I disagree.

To be clear, I really should not be discussing the topic in the OP, but I will respond to personal attacks.

It's not dogma. I don't think a lot of people know what that word actually means. they throw out "dogma", "dogmatic" etc. like they throw out "racist".

dogma noun [ C/U ]
US /ˈdɔɡ·mə, ˈdɑɡ-/
fixed belief or set of beliefs that people are expected to accept without any doubts

I'm happy to debate any of my "dogmas", but just because I believe a Porsche is a better car than a Yugo, that doesn't make me dogmatic about it. Give me evidence that supports the opposite and I'll be happy to change my position. Heck, I changed my position on this to what it is now because that is exactly what happened.

Could you take this to St. Justin's?

it's your definition of annihilation. what you have posted is not the actual definition of that. it's not a personal attack, you are just not defining things properly and all you have done is insisted on being correct.

The personal attack was the use of the word, "dogma". I'm happy to change my position on any subject once compelling evidence presents itself. It's how I changed my mind on this topic in the first place. I used to be an adherent to the "turn or burn" message. But I based my belief on what people told me, not as a result of study. Then I studied it. I read the debates between the two (sometimes several) sides, trying to decipher the motives and "best arguments" from both sides. The result was twofold:
1. I changed my position.
2. I can defend it quite easily.

I don't understand why you are so fixated on the word "annihilation". It's not in the bible anywhere I can find it. What is your point?

What is St. Justin's?

It is a sub-forum for anything that is argumentative or in opposition to the teaching of the Eastern Orthodox Church. You can create a thread there and discuss this all you want. The OP asked for EO views on hell.

Yeah. That's why I tried to drop it.

it's great that you are willing to change it, but your defense for your belief has simply been you. your reading of Scripture, which may or may not be right, yet you are insistent that you are right. again, not a personal attack.

It's because I stopped arguing on this thread because I was told this is not the place for it.

I'm loaded for bear but I can't discharge my weapon in a china shop.

My conclusion is only through a glass darkly. I just deleted a bunch of follow up comments in this post because we have been warned that this is not the place for this discussion.
