CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Happy Sabbath to everyone, just came in here in Queensland Australia.
On this Sabbath let's keep praying for each other and for rain where it is needed. Had some good rain in parts of Australia while other parts have had none or very little.

We had a good Sabbath, Sabbath School and Church went well.
After lunch I took the kids for a bush walk. It was a bit cooler by 3:00 p.m. It was a very hot day but out under ths trees it was much cooler.
We went for a walk up Mt Mitchell. It is on the left side of Cunningham's Gap as you travel to Sydney from Brisbane.
Just to fill you in it is about 120 kms south of Brisbane and about 20 kms from our place.
On the right you have Mt Cordeoux, another very good walk on a Sabbath afternoon.
Now we have done both mountains.

We had a baptism today, and the lady who was baptized gave her testimony. She decided to become a Christian after her life was saved miraculously as she was about to drive her car into a river. She has type 1 diabetes and lost control of her car when her blood sugar went too low. She started attending church a few months ago and requested Bible studies.

A question.
I grew up SDA, but I have not gone to church on the Sabbath in many years. In my view I still keep the Sabbath, I dont work. It is my actual day of rest in my week. I do attend a worship service on sunday. I have told many at the church I do attend that Saturday is the Sabbath and that sunday is just another day. What is others in the forum view on this? Also, be aware that this church is where, I believe, God wants me to be at this time.

I don't think there's anything wrong with worshiping God on Sunday (or any other day, for that matter). We should worship God every day. If you believe that you're in a church where God wants you, you have to follow your convictions.

Well as new members to the SDA I have to say now that my job will allow me to have Sabbaths' off I am so excited to go to church shoot I can't wait till SABBATH!!!!!!!!!.. Sorry just a little too giddy..lol..

We are still in servere drought, our brothers and sisters in Central Queensland are having major floods.
The road and rail line from Brisbane to Cairns have been cut in a number of places and nothing is moving at the moment.
That is the sort of rain we need to break this drought.
There is a proposal in February that the SDA Church across Australia sets aside one Sabbath and invites the public to join them in prayer for rain.
I guess if it comes before that the Sabbath will turn into a Thankgiving Sabbath.
I certainly hope it does.

Well we started taking bible studies from a woman with a local SDA church in Collegedale, then our pastor at our Baptist church found out and boy did he go on the attack well we quit the church over some other issues along with his attitude about the SDA and well we went church shopping and settled on a really wonderful church close by our house that actually met all of our needs in a church.. I did not like the way he (our old pastor treated us when he found out that all we were doing was taking a bible study but you know that church did not even have a bible study AT ALL so when my wife bought a book from someone while she was at work. (The Great Cont.) a card fell out about learning more about the bible and we went and filled it out and sent it in and wouldn't you know it almost two months later the same lady Stephanie Gladden who sold my wife the book (she bought it sight unseen as she works in an office) showed up at our door to give us the lessons. After the lessons we decided that the SDA sounded like the place God would have us to be.

I must apologize for the rambling in my post Cliff2 I was in a hurry and was trying to fit as much in a possible BUT we did finally join our church this Sabbath by Profession of Faith, We are thinking of doin a Baptism maybe after it warms up a bit..lol (middle of winter here) I know they do Baptisms inside BUT we would like to do an outside ..well there I go rambling again

Well, the Sabbath just gone was a bit different this time! I was on a hike/camp, so it we had all our worships outside on rocks beside a beautiful river, and it was so nice! I love being in nature on Sabbath, I feel it helps me to concentrate on the Lord more than when I'm in a hot stuffy building It is good to get away now and then.
