Well it is also written that apart from the law sin is dead . so that doesn't really follow. I think though that's why Jesus came .

Missing the mark means that the archer is aiming for the wrong target.

It doesn't mean he's just bad at archery and can't hit it.

It includes the idea of a twisted idea of morality. He misses the mark because he doesn't acknowledge it to be a worthwhile mark. It is more beneficial to his own interests to aim for something else.

This is what sin really is. It is a refusal to "think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God."

Yes, but that doesnt tell us to ignore the scriptures or the law, it simply means that we must seek Christ, and meditating on his words and prayer is how we seek him.
