Right, constitutionally, they don't have the authority to do that. What you're advocating, is the continued expansion of federal power.

Nope. Expansion of my right to fight against illegal gun usage.
I will track the shooters myself, with my phone.

My dad had illegal guns when senile.
My father-in law had illegal guns when senile.
My brother shot himself dead with my fathers illegal gun.
People shoot others as they drive by.

I'm just asking to know after the gun is fired, when and where it was fired.
Too much to ask from you?

If legal, then targets could locate the shooter in seconds.

You think a civilian under weapon fire will whip out his IPhone app, locate the shooter and execute flawless counter fire in seconds ?

And on technological side how hard is it to use

Faraday bag - Wiktionary

Or something similiar around your gun

Local power for you to track gun usage for yourself.
If you'd like to prohibit the government from listening
I'll go along with that.

The problem is, guns are loud. Someone had already called security the moment he took the windows out with his hammer. They might not have known where the shooter was at first, but after a volley or two, they had guys with beers in their hand flipping off the shooter. You can't NOT know where a gun is shooting from.

Your idea wouldn't have prevented the murders. They wouldn't have alerted anyone any sooner.

Likely civilians would not. But they could locate the source at least.
I'm only advocating for the location of the shooter.
Legal gun toters would remain invisible.

So basically you want Pokémon Go with guns where the original shooter acts like a lure and then all the vigilante untrained civilians converge on single spot with everyone waving a gun.

Talk about entertainment value. I bet we would get paramedics, TV crews and maybe even some real cops around as well.

Maybe this is not a good idea?

I don't know where the shooters are 2 - 3 times a month.
In this case they identified the room and took 72 minutes
to clear each floor then break down the door.

Security could have identified the specific gun room in seconds with my proposal.

This is for ME to tack gunfire in my neighborhood.
So all gun owners in the US are suppose to pay more for their guns and be tracked by anyone and their brother so the YOU can track down a shooter in your neighborhood? No.

Exactly right. The cost of the gun is no object over my right to knowledge of any gun usage.

Guns make noise now, so it's not a big change from that.
I'm only adding radio frequency to the current noise.

What difference would that have made. The shooter only shot for 6-10 mins. Law enforcement would have still needed to secure the floor before moving forward to the room. They would not have gotten there in time to stop anything.

You have no such right. It's not your business.

The problem is not the guns. Take away the guns, or make their use impractical, and criminals will merely resort to other weapons to achieve their desired result.

The problem, is the people. Why do those people want to kill? Because they grew up in a broken home, with a corrupt value system is my guess.
How many mass casualty events do you know of that are achieved with "other weapons"?

My proposal does increase the control of people who fire guns.
As long as your firing of a gun is lawful, then you have freedom
to use it any way you wish. When I hear gun-fire in my city
I am PRETTY sure the gunfire is not legal. And as a citizen
,I'd like to be able to locate the shooter within seconds.

I feel that locating gunfire is a right that is equal to the
shooters right to carry. Please provide your argument out
of that.
So your proposal includes all guns, including those used by the government agencies?

How do you figure "they needed to secure the floor"?

All guns made in the US, plus any overseas contracts.

That's hard on our troops, but they'll figure something out.
