There is not a scriptural basis for believing people or demons or tech could not allow for reading another person's thoughts. Certainly people can feel "off" while going about the business of the day. You can catch a vibe of positivity, negativity, stress, etc. Particularly in the wildness of these days God may be peeling back another layer of exposure--opportunity for tremendous good and grotesque evil. This may be a time if we allow it to help people take every thought captive; however, it may also be a time for people to indulge and engage the worst of their thoughts depending on the audience. Demons certainly influence us. Satan is allowed access to anything God allows him to have access to. It seems to me people experiment with unchartered territory all of the time in all sorts of fields of learning. Cell phones are a miracle. 3D printing is incredible. It's about physics and energy. Our bodies function in chemical reactions and energy. That's what our nerves are doing. Even though it should be off limits, there is nothing other than ethics which no longer seem to exist, preventing exploring harnessing and exploiting that personal energy at greater lengths. Scripture speaks of power in our words and thoughts and the need to control them to obedience to Christ. Why is that power not considered literal? I think to how much of our brains are not used and I wonder at early life before the Tower of Babel. They didn't have written language for a long time. It would seem a form of telepathy - in the same way if we believe in generations coming from one man and one woman that lived for centuries led to the mix of people we have now, why is it more difficult to consider perhaps there was a lot of nonverbal communication--a stronger thought force--while it developed? Satan's influence led to the degradation of everything, including limiting our capacities because of distrusting God. It's all theory yet I don't see how this contradicts scripture. It's frightening to consider yet we can only be influenced by not possessed by demons. We have to know whose we are and speak to that. It's easy to say to do that because they are strong. With anything getting back to our identity in Christ and trusting He is good is the key. I am preaching this to myself haha.
