A British Doctor [added: due to complaints I will clarify that he is a retired nurse teacher with a Ph.D.] I've watched several videos analyzes the recent research on Omicron coming out of South Africa. I highly recommend watching his videos.

Key Points:
After you get Omicron, the body naturally (vaxxed or not) produces a 14 fold resistance to reinfection. You are immune to Omicron reinfection.

Omicron recovery also grants 4.4 fold resistance to Delta variant infection - essentially you are immune to Delta, too.

Because Omicron is spreading so rapidly and widely, soon Delta will die out just as the Beta variant has.

Also, recovering from Delta does not protect you from Omicron.

In my opinion, this is great news; the pandemic is reaching its end stage. So don't be afraid as the case numbers climb, it's "nature's way" of super vaccinating the world.

Quite true. But they do so thousands of times less often, which is a large enough difference to matter.

As long as we're hoping, I also hope that they're based on Omicron, which causes less lung damage and probably less neurological damage than earlier versions.

It might be good news after it has all worked through the world's population, but it's still going to be a difficult time, before we all get to the stage of being to say that we have finally got there! Even this less severe variant may still kill a number of people as it is doing this!

This variant is also hitting unvaccinated children quite badly. The damage which this has done to the worlds economy and to peoples employment situations, will be with us as an ongoing problem for a long time yet!

It could be true, the source however isn't exactly that reliable. Medical professionals will be hesitant to declare the same conclusions because quite simply it's just a theory and it needs more time. but it is possible omicron could turn the pandemic into a endemic reduced to something like the flu or common cold.

With the huge case number of Omicron, a new variant is only a matter of very short time. Ideally, it is as transmissible, but more lethal.
