OF COURSE, the "prep day" is always on Friday for the regular weekly Saturday Sabbath, but that High Sabbath coming the day after Jesus' death was NOT on Saturday.

And it's still impossible to get 3 days & 3 nights from Friday to Sunday!

Yes, it was on the weekly Shabbat, the 15th. He died on the 14th and rose on the 16th. Also, you do not need 3 days and nights (He was using the Jonah story as a comparison). You only need 3 days, and not even 3 full days. He said ON THE 3RD DAY. Even the eyewitnesses on the road to Emmaus prove your chronology wrong.

There is no "preparation day" before a "high day" unless that high day falls on a Sabbath.

The seven-day Feast of Unleavened Bread commences with the night of the Passover dinner.

During the afternoon of the day leading up to that night, the Jews are supposed to get ready for the dinner by removing leaven from their homes plus slaughtering and roasting paschal lambs before sundown in accordance with the rules laid down in the twelfth chapter of Exodus and Lev 23:5-8.

The afternoon of prep day used to be pretty busy; but not so much any more seeing as how few, if any, modern Jews go to the trouble of slaughtering and roasting lambs prior to sundown like they're supposed to. I think they still remove leaven from their homes; and some even go to the extreme of giving away any and all pots and pans and utensils that ever came in contact with leaven.

The first night of the Feast Of Unleavened Bread is extremely sacred because it commemorates the Jews' departure from Egypt on the night that the angel went abroad slaying all the firstborn of man and beast. Ironically, even many secular Jews revere that night; probably because it's a major element in their ethnic identity. They might skip all the other feasts, but they usually don't skip that one.

By Jesus' time, most Jews didn't keep too many animals, if any, so, animal-sellers set up shop near the temple, or local synagogues to sell animals to be used in jewish religious rites. Some of them were among the vendors Jesus chased from the temple.

As time passed, & very-few Jews kept animals, "kosher" stores opened, which sold products that conformed with God's dietary laws for Israel, and, of course, many such stores operate today. (Even most Wal-Marts carry kosher products.) Among their offerings, especially in passover season, is lamb meat, prepared carefully in kosher manner, with as much blood removed as possible, and with none of the lamb's bones being broken in the process of removing the meat from them, & the remains being burned by the packing company. The idea is SACRIFICE, and the Jew buying such veal "sacrifices" by paying money for it. They believe this satisfies the passover law. (Far as I'm concerned, that's a matter between the Jew and God.)

I don't recall the expression "exact sign" appearing in Scripture, plus it is impossible for Jesus to be in the tomb for "3 days and 3 nights" AND rise on the third day, which Jesus said He would. So you make Jesus out to be a list. The testimony of the disciples on the road to Emmaus proves that He did in fact rise "on the third day" so it demonstrates that you misunderstand what He meant by "3 days and 3 nights".

Two of your above are translations from the Peshitta, which is an Aramaic translation and not from the Greek.
James Murdock's translation is widely regarded as a paraphrase, combining translation with interpretation. The editor of the New Berkeley Version, Gerrit Verkugl, stated in regards to the former that it is, "Hard telling where revelation ends, and Moffat begins."
Youngs Literal is correct and does not support your view.
Of the nearly 60 English translations available on Bible Gateway, 50 translate as "today is the third day since"

I am in no doubt that this translation is correct. The interpretation which you have offered is rubbish.

Two of your above are translations from the Peshitta, which is an Aramaic translation and not from the Greek.
James Murdock's translation is widely regarded as a paraphrase, combining translation with interpretation. The editor of the New Berkeley Version, Gerrit Verkugl, stated in regards to the former that it is, "Hard telling where revelation ends, and Moffat begins."
Youngs Literal is correct and does not support your view.
Of the nearly 60 English translations available on Bible Gateway, 50 translate as "today is the third day since"

I am in no doubt that this translation is correct. The interpretation which you have offered is rubbish.
