1st we know He was 30 when he began, we know His earthly ministry was 3 1/2 years, we know the Temple was destroyed in 70 ad. Do a study on 40. We know when he died there was an eclipse at noon, the earth was dark. We have astrological programs now that can place the eclipse & the Star of Bethlehem at 30 ad.

The star of Bethlehem happened when Jesus was born...and it wasn't a conjunction of planets. Scripture clearly shows that when the Magi arrived.

Do a study on 40? Why?
What date does the astrological programs show an eclipse at noon and on what day?

Christ said he would be 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth.
Show me your 3 nights.

Don't need to. He said "destroy This Temple and I will rebuild it IN THREE DAYS". The Yonah quote was used by Yeshua as an example expression to those who needed a sign. One they would likely not understand because the sign was His Resurrection. They were an adulterous evil generation that were seeking a sign.

The day (Nisan 14) doesn't begin until sunset (7pm)

Approximate Nisan 14 timeline:
Nisan 14 began at sundown. Jesus eats his last supper with his chosen 12 (7-9pm). They go the Garden of Gethsemane & Jesus prays (9pm -midnight) He is arrested (midnight) the Priests accuse, abuse & condemn Him (midnight-6am). Hes taken to Pilate questioned, abused, scourged & sentenced to death (6am til 8am). Nailed to the cross (9am) suffers and dies at (3pm) all on Nisan 14.

Friday simply doesn't work!
Friday night...day one. Saturday morning and night..day 2. Sunday morning when it was still dark..day 3.

From Gills exposition of the entire bible.

So shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. That Christ means himself by the "son of man", there is no reason to doubt; and his being laid in a tomb, dug out of a rock, is sufficient to answer this phrase, "the heart of the earth", in distinction from the surface of it; but some difficulty arises about the time of his continuing there, and the prediction here made agreeable to the type: for it was on the sixth day of the week, we commonly call "Friday", towards the close, on the day of the preparation for the sabbath, and when the sabbath drew on, that the body of Christ was laid in the sepulchre; where it lay all the next day, which was the sabbath of the Jews, and what we commonly call "Saturday"; and early on the first of the week, usually called "Sunday", or the Lord's day, he rose from the dead; so that he was but one whole day, and part of two, in the grave. To solve this difficulty, and set the matter in a clear light, let it be observed, that the three days and three nights, mean three natural days, consisting of day and night, or twenty four hours, and are what the Greeks call "night days"; but the Jews have no other way of expressing them, but as here; and with them it is a well known rule, and used on all occasions, as in the computation of their feasts and times of mourning, in the observance of the passover, circumcision, and divers purifications, that , "a part of a day is as the whole" (n): and so, whatever was done before sun setting, or after, if but an hour, or ever so small a time, before or after it, it was reckoned as the whole preceding, or following day; and whether this was in the night part, or day part of the night day, or natural day, it mattered not, it was accounted as the whole night day: by this rule, the case here is easily adjusted; Christ was laid in the grave towards the close of the sixth day, a little before sun setting, and this being a part of the night day preceding, is reckoned as the whole; he continued there the whole night day following, being the seventh day; and rose again early on the first day, which being after sun setting, though it might be even before sun rising, yet being a part of the night day following, is to be esteemed as the whole; and thus the son of man was to be, and was three days and three nights in the grave; and which was very easy to be understood by the Jews; and it is a question whether Jonas was longer in the belly of the fish.

I disagree, BTW the day begins at sunset (7pm) he doesn't die until 3pm on Thurs (still Nisan 14) you timeline allows 1-2 days at best. Scripture is clear 3 days in the grave. Friday doesn't work!

Nisan 14 was a Wednesday, the evening and the morning make a day, thus, the evening comes first.

3-Hebraic-Gregorian-Day.jpg
Nisan 14 started at sunset on the Gregorian calendar day of Tuesday and ended at sunset on the Gregorian calendar day of Wednesday. Nisan 14 did not fall on any part of the Gregorian calendar day of Thursday. Jesus was crucified and entombed on a Wednesday.

You do know early Christians interpreted the 3 days to be His body in the tomb and the 3 nights His soul in Hades. And the only full day being Sabbath because that is the day of rest.
This is why the psalm about not lwaving his soul in Hades nor his holy one to see corruption(flesh) is prominent Acts: 2:6-7. 13:35

How can a calendar not be true ?
i.e. It shows over those 5 years what days of the week
the crucifixion would be IF it was in that year, then the resurrection.
I am not saying the calendar is not true, I am saying YOUR interpretation of it is wrong.

Because YOU are implying Yom HaBikkarim is always on 17 Nisan...and it is NOT!

Jesus died on the day of preparation for the Passover. The evening of the last supper began the day of preparation. The chief priests sent a security force to arrest Jesus. They could not have done this on Passover as it was illegal to do work on the Passover. The trial at Caiphas house could not have happened on the Passover as it was illegal to hold a trial during Passover. The next day they led Jesus to where Pilate was and asked Pilate to crucify him. He hung on the cross from about midday until three hours later. About this time the Jews were slaughtering lambs for the Passover meal. The Synoptic Gospels and Gospel of John differ in their description of the event. The basic details are there, but those without an in depth understanding of the Talmudic description of Pesach (Passover) lack knowledge of the way the event was done.

I did a web page about this using a 19th century translation of the Talmud (copyright expired) as a source:
The Last Supper and time of the Passover Feast

After a few years the Jews had to adjust their lunar calendar to make sure the day of Pentecost coincided with the grain harvest. It was not 365 days plus a leap year for the Jews of the first century.

These things are traditions, similar to aspects of the law. I don't pay a lot of attention to the world's set holidays, so called Holy days. I worship God every day and am thankful every day for the sacrifice that Jesus the Christ, the son of the living God made for me. All the arguments, debates, historical frames of reference about this day and that day etc bear no good fruit, no edification. Defying traditions usually brings condemnation by established religion/denominations. Much of the protestant religion is no different than the Jewish fixations on traditions of men. They have nothing to do with serving God.

If a Christian wants to observe these things and give them a special significance, fine. If not fine, as long as God is worshipped, obeyed and honored in every aspect of our lives. In order not to stumble the weak we should make ourselves all things to all men, knowing that days, and traditions, certain foods and so forth neither commend us to God or separate us from him. Fear God.

One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

But the sign was not a dead man in the grave. Read the story of Yonah! They did not believe because he was swallowed by a fish but that he survived! You people are SO stuck on that "it HAD to be EXACTLY 72 hrs" thing! Wake up!
And you are so stuck on the idea that his being in the grave for 3 days AND 3 nights, was no sign at all.
But Jesus said clearly that his being in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights WAS the only sign that would be given! It's YOU that is trying to deny what the scripture plainly says!
Read it again, and get those scales off your eyes!

Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

See? The sign WAS the time he was in the grave!
And Jesus knows exactly how to use the precise words to say precisely what He means.

You say the sign was not a dead man... but the word clearly says it WAS.

There was no sign to be given that generation, but His death, burial, 3 days and 3 nights of being buried, and his resurrection.

Every tiny bit of that whole scenario was the sign.
Including those 3 nights.
