What makes the earth rotate?

The earth rotates simply because it has not yet stopped moving.
The Solar System, and indeed the Galaxy, were formed
by the condensation of a rotating mass of gas.
Conservation of angular momentum meant that any bodies formed from the gas
would themselves be rotating.
As frictional and other forces in space are very small,
rotating bodies, including the Earth, slow only very gradually.

Your Blessings and another question will be posted shortly

magnetic pull??? Duh, it's a tough question....

Here is another 'answer' to that question Norah

What makes the Earth rotate?

As a father and a science lover I was dumbfounded
when my 7yr old son asked me "What makes our earth turn (rotate) ?
He then asked "Did it start a long time ago
and it just keeps turning or is something pushing it to turn"?
How does the Earth continue to rotate around its axis?
Where does the energy to keep it moving come from?

Our everyday experience teaches us
that an object must be "pushed" by a force in order to keep it moving.
Otherwise, it will slow down and eventually stop.
But this intuition is absolutely wrong.
If an object is moving, then a force is required *to slow it down or stop it*,
not to keep it moving.
(Hence, "Objects in motion tend to stay in motion. Objects at rest tend to stay at rest.")
In our everyday experience, it's the force of friction
that tends to stop Earth-bound objects from moving forever.
But for the Earth rotating on its axis, there is no force working to counteract the rotation
(except the tidal effect of the Moon, but that's working very slowly),
so you don't need to have any input energy to keep it spinning.

Fermentation, caused by yeast, salt and water (or other liquid) if I remember rightly, which releases carbon dioxide.

Lots of good information Sue
I thought I was going to give it to you
BUT.... you then went off-course

I'm sorry please try again :) ;)

air bubbles get trapped inside the bread,,,

Sorry Bachatagirl

Bubbles in bread are caused by the yeast eating the bread dough
and then the yeast passes gas and created a little microscopic bubble
and that happens over and over again causing bubbles

Thank you Bachata Sis'
You and Sue [rebornfree] are very close ...
but haven't yet, provided the answer I have

Perhaps a bread maker would know :)

Oh and before I move on
as you have now, provided two consecutive guesses
please wait until someone else has answered before, trying again

I'll try again Dave:

Fermentation when yeast comes into contact with salt and liquid. :)

I appear to have chosen a question_
the answer to which, is evading exposure

Let me provide some clues ....

We are NOT talking..... "air bubbles"

You will need to consider 'gluten' to give the correct answer

You will need to consider [examine] the fermentation process more carefully

Most of, the information that the 'required answer' must have
appears in the answers already given

But they are not the complete answer !!

I will give this question a few more days, before revealing it [in full] and posting another
