And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
(Acts 10:10-15 KJV)

And God said:

Pork Fat Rules ! :yum: :yum: :yum:

Read the rest of the chapter and it tells the meaning of the vision.

17While Peter was wondering about the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found out where Simon's house was and stopped at the gate. 18They called out, asking if Simon who was known as Peter was staying there.

19While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Simon, three[a] men are looking for you. 20So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them.”

21Peter went down and said to the men, “I'm the one you're looking for. Why have you come?”

22The men replied, “We have come from Cornelius the centurion. He is a righteous and Godfearing man, who is respected by all the Jewish people. A holy angel told him to have you come to his house so that he could hear what you have to say.” 23Then Peter invited the men into the house to be his guests. Peter at Cornelius' House

The next day Peter started out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa went along. 24The following day he arrived in Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends. 25As Peter entered the house, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet in reverence. 26But Peter made him get up. “Stand up,” he said, “I am only a man myself.”

27Talking with him, Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people. 28He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with a Gentile or visit him. But God has shown me that I should not call any man impure or unclean. 29So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection. May I ask why you sent for me?”

30Cornelius answered: “Four days ago I was in my house praying at this hour, at three in the afternoon. Suddenly a man in shining clothes stood before me 31and said, ‘Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and remembered your gifts to the poor. 32Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He is a guest in the home of Simon the tanner, who lives by the sea.’ 33So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us.”

34Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism 35but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right. 36You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. 37You know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached– 38how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

39“We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a tree, 40but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. 41He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen–by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. 43All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

44While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. 45The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. 46For they heard them speaking in tongues[b] and praising God. Then Peter said, 47“Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.” 48So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days.

I don't know how to put this any clearer. THIS IS NOT A SALVATION ISSUE!! SALVATION IS NOT AT STAKE!!! Yes, King David was still saved, as would you be, BUT IS IT THE RIGHT THING TO DO!!!

never have I said is is the right thing to do.

But this stongly shows once a son always a son!

God is Mercyful

thank Goodness or we would all go to hell.

Have I not said it clearly enough. You can ignore every aspect of the law and still be saved, BUT...could you honestly kill someone, and live with yourself knowing you took advantage of your salvation. Most people don't kill others even when they know that they can be forgiven, because we try to be Christ like, we try to live a Godly life. Well, how is eating pork any different, or worshipping on Sabbath any different, when all sins are sins, regardless of how we percieve them?

so you changed your mind on this quote? since david is saved.

Well, considering that "the Father" is like Clark Kent and Superman, you know two identities of the same person, in a sense he did, but then again.....

AAAAAWWWWWW this is the whole trinity thing, and I get all twisted around and confused in my head when I try to figure that whole thing out.
 yup very hard to understand. In fact we don't really understand it -- none of us do and we probably won't totally understand it 10,000 years from now but as the song says we'll have no less days to sing HIS praise then when we first began and no less days to continually worship and try to understand our Awesome GOD!!

all for JESUS!!

so you changed your mind on this quote? since david is saved.

Where do you get from that quote that I ever said that if you break any part of the law you will lose your salvation? I have clearly stated that you can break the law and still be saved numerous times. My mind has not changed, but apparently you read my posts and take what you want from it and throw away the rest.

Read the rest of the chapter and it tells the meaning of the vision.

Yep, the entire message is neither are the Gentiles unclean, nor that which we eat. The ceremonial law is now obsolete as commanded by God. IOW, pork, shrimp, lobster, all those things that were to separate the Jews from other people are now allowed to be eaten in freedom. For there is no longer anything unclean which He has sanctified ! :yum:

The health laws are not part of the scarificial laws. It was these that were done away at the cross, not the laws on health.

The 'health laws' as you call them served to separate the Jew from the Gentile. Since there is no longer such a separation, there is no longer a need to have a symbol of it.

I cannot agree with your view here. The health laws were well extablished long before there was a Jew.

At the time of the flood. Noah was told to take more of the clean animals into the boat than unclean animals.

After Adam and Eve were cast out of the Garden of Eden God told them what type of animal to sacrifice. They only ever sacrificed clean animals.

Abraham was given a ram to use when he was about to sacrifice his son.

The list goes on, health laws were never done away with.

The meaning of the vision that Peter had been given was that the unclean animals represented the Gentiles. Read the rest of the chapter to find out what happened.

Genesis 9:3-4
Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; and as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.

I guess God wasn't too concerned about Noah's health.

If I recall correctly Noah was told to take 7 clean and 2 unclean animals into the boat.

That show us what God had in mind even if not spelt out as clear as he did latter on.

How would Noah have known what was clean and what was unclean since that law wasn't given till later? If i remember correctly Noah didn't take the animals into the boat. They came a marchin' in. Lets all read the story (course i don't know what this has to do with sabbath?) anyway the flood story is Genesis 6,7

Genesis 7

"1 The LORD then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. 2 Take with you seven [a] of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, 3 and also seven of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth. 4 Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made."
5 And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him."

There is never an Apostolic teaching for a Gentile to submit to any part of the Mosaic Law as a rule or practice. The Old Covenant Law stands today to the condemnation of Jew and Gentile alike and shows us of need for Christ's atoning work at the Cross. A Gentile keeping Saturday as a Sabbath is in error. The Old Covenant Sabbath was a shadow and type of the Sabbath rest we now have in Christ. Likewise, arguing Sunday as a Christian Sabbath is an oxymoron. If we choose to observe the Lord's Day out of our love and worship of God, fine. If we observe it as a rule or law we must keep to earn salvation or keep ourselves saved, it will only stand to our condemnation. If we judge others based on whether they observe a day, or not, that is unscriptural.

Gentiles can eat pork. They always could. Jewish converts to Christianity can also share the good news of the Cross with Gentiles...likewise Gentile believers can tell Jews about Jesus too.

New Covenant believers are heir to the promise to Abraham, that is we are delcared righteous by faith.

May God Bless

first of all the Lords day is saturday not sunday....Jesus said he was Lord of the sabbath...Mark 2:28

The name the Lords day being tied to sunday was proclaimed by Pope Sylvester .....

What is the new covenant? Lets take a look..

Jer.31:33
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Heb.8:8
8For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

That is the new covenant..His laws in our hearts and minds...doesn't sound like they are done away with does it....

1John 2:3
3And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1John 3:22
22And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Search the scriptures for in them ye think ye have eternal life..

I never knew you
Matthew 7:21
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity

Gods will is his law
Psalms 40:8
8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
