Something that happened to me- Years ago when I was still living with my parents at their house I was in my room praying and the cat was sleeping on the bed behind me. I was praying when suddenly I felt a paw tap me on the shoulder. I turned around and the cat looked right at me and said a loud MEOW! I think God was trying to get my attention! God spoke to me through the cat! Maybe this is God's sense of humor?

A basic test of an encounter with God, or God speaking to one is a greater desire to serve God, to know more about him and a far greater thankfulness for what he has done.

If this wasn't the result then it is highly unlikely that it was God speaking to you.

We know that God has a connection with His creation and critters, a good read through Job shows how He interacts. I've had my cats look at me in wonder as I get deeply spiritual, I believe they sense the presence perhaps in ways we can not. Angels too. Cats have senses we don't have. They also sense demonic presence, mine will slink around the house totally unsettled till I pray that out of the house. Once I do that all is well with them. I pray my house out 2-3 times a week, you would be amazed how quiet and peaceful it is, I've had several people comment on it over the years. Well the cats sense that too.

The thing is we or many humans don't recognize just how close the spiritual realm is to us. At least some don't, as can be observed in no better place than right here at CF. God and angels are in our literal space, unseen, perhaps even the same space one dimension or two removed. Demons slither in like a snake in a garden but very easy to be rid of if never let to get a grip. I'm here to say that from my observation cats sense it.

Can you share a prayer you say to get demons out of your house?
Thank you

I'm pretty sure a dog once said to me, "Quit being a stupid human." I'm not sure if I was projecting my own thoughts onto the dog or if it was the still, small voice of God, but I agreed. ;)

One of my worst nights, my cat crept in and lay on my chest to be with me and keep me company.
I was so thankful for that cat.
Still am.
If you feel inclined PM me and we can talk there.

I had a cat named Electra whom my brother gave to me after his landlord told him and his girlfriend to get rid of some cats. They gave me Electra and I was very happy about that. The first time I saw Electra she was sitting in the window. My mother and I arrived for Christmas and I saw a pretty cat in the window and waved at the cat and said hi. Then Electra waved back at me and said hi. That was one of those moments where you just had to try and pretend that did not happen. As it was, Electra spoke good English. She always tried to speak the English language. She was a real communicator of a cat, to be sure! So me and Electra bonded when our eyes connected. It was like we were destine to be together. I would visit my brother and stay the night on the couch and Electra was there to snuggle with me. When she turned 7, I became her new owner.
When I knew Electra was dying and grabbed ahold of her and held her in my arms and cried my eyes out like a little child. I mean I cried hard. But I wanted to hold her while she was still alive. I did not want to hold her and tell her I love her after she dienis. I cried real hard twice when she was dying. She was alive for 8 days before finally dying. That was gong time for her to live considering she was in real bad shape and could not breath normally. During this time in my life, I was struggling financially and did not have money for vet visits. Today that has changed, but when Electra was dying I was living from one paycheck to the other. And thanks to Biden I'll be doing that again. Anyway, she always woke me up for work at the same time every day. Even without my alarm clock she woke me up on the hour every day. When she was dying, she moved a great deal slower so she wasn't on time but still made her way into my bedroom to wake me up.

I read her her last rites before she died. I began to read from Isaiah chapter 11 and that really caught her attention and moved in closer to me intently listening. I don't know what else to say. It was like she was an angel sent to me from heaven. Her love for me was greater than the love of any human being. Her last words were in English and she said I love you. I learned that her love for me was the same love God has for the world. She had a divine love. So here I am learning the Gospel from a cat. But I am humbled to have had the chance to hear the Gospel from a cat. Her love was deep, real deep. In her, I saw God's love. Anyone who says animals don't have soul are probably the type that never had a good pet in their lives.

Electra was a Domestic Longhair. She was hard to groom and was a very large female. I'd post some pics of her but I'm new here and still trying to learn ropes of this forum. I'll see if I can post a pic here. She was my best cat. I have two new cats today.

Ah, alright. Here is a full image of Electra. Her eyes gazed at me with love all the time. In her eyes, I could do nothing wrong.

Here's a couple of pics of my youngest girl, Chloe.

She's now much bigger than she was in this picture. She must weigh roughly around 9 or 10 lbs already and she is about 8 months old. She's a big kitty and outweighs my older Maine Coon. Both cats are very healthy and get regular vet visits.

When I had Electra I did not know anything about grooming cats and Domestic Longhairs are very hard to groom!! When she died, I learned everything I could about cats so I could make the life of a new kitten the best life ever.

Electra died at age 15. We shared 8 years together with a close bond. I still miss her. I wish I knew now the things about cats back when I had Electra. But I am a humbler man today because of her love. I always try to love those around me as if they will not be here tomorrow.

Aaawwww The kitty cats are adorable! And little Electra sounds like a true gift from God! :amen::angel:
Electra is the cat that died. She was a big female Domestic Longhair. The youngest of my two new kitties is a Ragdoll, Chloe. She holds the gold standard of the breed and is a very sweet and playful kitty.

I woke up today and Chloe my Ragdoll was standing on my chest with her but in my face. She had poop all over her butt. When you own longhaired cats this is one of the joys of owning one lol! Fortunately, my mother lives with me and this is a two person job. Chloe is strong so she doesn't like having to be still for too long while someone wipes and combs out here butt area. I don't think any cat likes that. So I have to hold Chloe in a position where my mother would use the Mikki comb and butt wipes for cats and clean out the area. Chloe was not comfortable at all and tried to break free. Though I noticed something about her today. She did the same thing to me that Electra used to do. Electra never bit me but she would gnaw on my arm in a love bite way without leaving a mark. Chloe also did this to me today. I feel very good about this because its a clear sign of a very loving and loyal cat. Had I done this with my Maine Coon my arm would be missing lol! So her butt area is clean but she still needs a bath. I know how to give her a bath but I think her first bath should be done at the groomers. I really don't want to give a cat a bath. Ragdolls don't care much for water to begin with. She also needs her butt area trimmed. Time to get out the Bravura to do some trimming.

One of my cats is a Maine Coon. Her name is Foo Foo. LOL
She likes to drink water from the tap, but that's as close to a bath as she will ever get. I think she would claw my eyes out if I tried to bathe here ;)

My other cat is Bumbles. He is old... he just turned 21 a few months ago. He gets wiped down with special pet wipes, but I wouldn't bathe him, either. He just isn't used to it. Both of the cats are long-haired, so I know about poopy messes at times from them. Gotta love cats ;)

The funny thing is, Maine Coons like water...at least to some degree. My MC is a paw drinker and even eats her dry cat food with her paws. She is also a naughty cat lol! Smart cats are good at thinking up ways to be naughty.

Back when Electra was still alive, her first week with me taught me a lesson in longhaired cats when she began rubbing her butt on the floor. When I saw the mess she had on her, I had to bathe her. Now Electra was a big robust Domestic Longhair. She had big paws and massive claws. Yeah, I have her a bath and that was a traumatic experience lol! I ended up having to give her two baths. I was able to keep her under control while my mother did the washing. But nothing about that experience was easy.

Electra has big claws. But Gracie, my MC, has claws that are not only very sharp, but are like a barbed fish hook. Her teeth are long and she has sank those teeth deep into my flesh before. Giving her a bath terrifies me. The groomers say she is well behaved. But she is not like that at home. I have scares all over my arms just from trying to groom her! I wear armor but she then attacks my fingers when she realizes she can't bite through my armor. Then there is Chloe, my Ragdoll. Yeah, I bought her from a well established and reputable breeder. I believe I did the right thing by doing that. Chloe just models for me when I groom her and we're done within minutes. If only my Maine Coon would just let me groom her she would save me all that money taking her to the groomers. Maine Coons are not even hard to groom. Their hair is so easy to work with. But I've noticed in a few facebook groups I'm in that 50% of Maine Coon owners cannot groom their MC. I would hate to groom an angry male MC! To think that a female can do such damage to flesh and then consider the damage a male could do--yikes! lol!

But I love both my cats. Gracie has character but she watches too many violent movies lol! Chloe likes those chick flix lol! Chloe is a girly girl--a true lady cat. Ragdolls have an outstanding temperament.
