When one encounters a claim that truth isn't reasonable, one can be confident someone's employing 'reason' as an euphemism for atheism.

Jesus died in our place so we do not have to die. The only value Martin Luther King's death may have is to the degree his death points people to Jesus and the finished work at Calvery.Jesus died in the name of Truth as did Martin Luther King.
Phred, may I present Mr. Darryl Dawkins.

Name a single example where magical poofing by a supernatural deity has turned out to be the verifiable answer to any question.
It appears to.me that atheists are not the ones that deny truth. How about theists denying the truth that science has presented with misquotation , half truths and wilfully misunderstanding because it does not fit into your world view.
Theists don't even accept the truth of the bible but will interpret it as suits their arguement, even to the point of picking and choosing what they like from the bible.
Anything patently stupid is allegorical. If anyone wants to argue the literal truth of the bible I have a few questions about the literal truth and whether you believe every word or not.
Jesu said, "And this gospel shall be preacvhed over all the world."
That poofing has come to pass.

Jesus died so that the truth of what the scriptures say could be testified to without crucifixion or stoning.
Which gospel? The ones written many years after Jesus death? What about the ones that didn't make it into the bible? If.it has come to pass it's only partially.
Yes, the theists seem to believe what some long dead Bible interpretor claimed Genesis says.Actually, Genesis ssays the same thing science is discovering to be true:
1) It is clear that the Universe DID have a beginning, 13.9 billion years ago.
(Gen 1:1)
A beginning is not necessarily a creation. Genesis 1:1 really says 13.9 billion years ago?
2) The hot spinning molten matter that was to coalesce into the planet Earth was without form:
Unless you count the spherical shape the molten liquid would have formed
3) There were seven long Cosmic "days" since that Big Bang, which we call the seven cosmic/geological Eras.
Geology does not deal with the age of the universe, geological eras only reference earth and its age. besides there are 10 eras
4) A Cosmic Dark Age did precede that advent of let there be light to flood the cosmos.
(Gen 1:3-5)
Absence of light does not mean there was a "let there be light"
5) There was one ocean, once, where all the waters had been collected together.
(Gen 1:9)
Collected together? who did the gathering/
6) Pangea/Rodinia did actually confirm that the dry land appeared surrounded totally by water.
(Gen 1:10
True but a broken clock is right twice a day
7) The Plant kingdom did establish itself before the Animal kingdom.
(Gen 1:11)
here's the second time
8) The Sun and the Moon and all the Stars were "MADE," given authority over circadian Earth Time as soon as life appeared:
"MADE" really?
9) Man WAS the last step in the evolution of Dominant Life on earth.
(Gen 1:27)
At least you accept evolution.
10) Man HAS managed to form a mental IMAGE of "Father Nature" by understanding of His Laws and creation.
Father nature? i remember it as mother nature. Is god a woman?
11) Gen 5:2 says god called them, the man and his wife, the "Adamites," a species:
Gen 5:2 Male and female created he THEM; and blessed THEM, and called THEIR name Adam, in the day when THEY were created.

For the most part, I interpret the Bible as literally as a phonebook.
If anyone wants to argue the literal truth of the bible I have a few questions about the literal truth and whether you believe every word or not.
As I have stated before:Is that why you "gestalt" good and very good into "perfect?" You have a funny way of reading the phonebook, my friend!![]()
God said His creation was "very good," and that's good enough for me to deem it "perfect" - (or, better yet, pluperfect).
If you want to inject "accuracy" into the picture, God said His creation was "very good" --- meaning pluperfect.
If "perfect" is too hard a concept to understand, then use the term God Himself used --- very good.
But remember, it's God calling it very good, not man; and after having had a conversation with MrGoodBytes about it, I'm under the impression that from our point of view, it was pluperfect.
