Hell is for the non-repentant sinners, so of course it's not a good place nor is it meant to be a good place. If you don't believe there is such a place then I truly feel sorry for you.
The argument "I don't want to believe hell exists, therefore it doesn't" is also profoundly illogical.

Is hell a good or bad place?

If it is a good place, then why.
If it is a bad place, then why.

Or answer the poll.

Heaven is a bad place because it's a fiery pit where there will be a gnashing of teeth and wails.

Additionally, it will be hot and there will be tournament and it's divine punishment essentially.

I'm not sure if this is a joke though the question.

If you are so inclined to say its not a place at all, why ask the question about hell if it doesnt exist?
Well, exactly.

Conviction of sin precedes faith in the Saviour from sin, Who bore the believer's sins at the Cross.

Hell is a bad place, but I don't believe in Hell, I only believe in Heaven.
what...how?

And if just heaven where do you believe the wicked and the sinners go if they don't change

I have chronic pain and I cant imagine God sending anyone to a place of eternal torment. I think it goes against His compassionate nature.
Those who are wicked and sinners, I believe still go to Heaven and in Heaven they change and become good people.

It's hard to imagine such a scenario but the problem is the scriptures tells us this scenario multiple times how hte wicked will be severed from the just. Also in revelations hell is tossed into an eternal lake of fire.

I understand it's hard to accept...but it's in the bible.

And I see man i'll keep in prayers for the chronic pain.

But that would mean that one could eventually accept such love if it is true, and therefore escape hell.

I myself am very sympathetic towards Universal Reconciliation (the doctrine you're talking about), but I don't think that Saint Isaac's view of hell requires it--if you have hardened your heart past healing, it may well be that repentance is beyond you and damnation is eternal. Another variation of this type of view can be found here:

In my mind it doesn't, that's not to say it didn't. I'm inclined to ask this question to see if anyone can demonstrate how to arrive at a better conclusion than the logical fallacy "Hell is a bad place"

As it stands the title of your thread is gibberish. You need to explain the meaning of "good" in the statement "God is good." To do that, you need to explain (1) if and why a sovereign God actually WANTS INNOCENT women and children to die horrible deaths from natural disasters that God presumably decrees and then (2) precisely what God's goodness means in that context.

It makes God out to be evil though. No human with compassion would ever torture someone for eternity. Why think God would? Unless God is morally ambiguous or evil.

Not to mention the Bible was compiled over centuries, and the Gospel writers in their narratives don't read as if they were there or even knew anyone who was an eyewitness.

Then why say God is good if he takes responsibility for evil as well? I know the proper translation in that verse is calamity, but there are other verses that say God does evil in a city and that he sends evil and lying spirits.

Yes I agree true love hurts you if your heart is unkind. But who could stand up to an eternity of burning love forever.

I prefer my own view of damnnation though. Where a corrupted soul is only a tainted polarized energy being that becomes de-polorized and shipped back into the cosmos. There is simply no pain here, it's done perfectly by a community on the other side of this reality.

Why not if the evil aka divine punishment he sends serves a good purpose?

why not if the people he punishes participate in things like sacrificing babies?

Lastly though if it's biblical...it's true though...

God says add nothing to his word neither take anything away from it. From the thoughts of christ from the instructions we have before leaving Earth

Maybe I don't like certian things in the bible or certian ways certian things were done (think everyone feels this way to a degree) but in the end what was done achieves its purpose and in the end we can't do anything about who God is or what he does.

Not every act of evil or suffering serves a good purpose ever. A lot is just misery.

And as I added to another post above, the Bible was compiled over centuries, and the Gospel writers in their narratives don't read as if they were there or even knew anyone who was an eyewitness.

Well evil acts done by certian people led by Satan and that aren't the will of God sure they just cause misery.

Additionally, what I never understand about some Catholics... (the ones that have hte mindset you have) is if you don't rely on the bible...then what do you rely on. And a lot of times the answer I find is just what someone would like God to be like.

If they want him to be a huggy dubby God then they turn towards universalism for example.

even if that comes out you probably wont be able to afford it. Usually new products that advanced are just accessible to the rich cute joke though.

If you don't believe in hell.. just don't make a OP about it seems pointless.
