Literally the same sentiment as Smith Wigglesworth. In his later years he never read a newspaper, only the Bible.

“Some people like to read their Bibles in the Hebrew; some like to read it in the Greek; I like to ready it in the Holy Spirit.”

I'd hate to send you out for my shopping - very few products have a Bible reference that distinguishes them!!

That sure leaves an awful lot of holes in your education.

I don't believe you can always understand the Bible if you don't know anything about the culture and politics of the time. For example, you can't possibly understand the passage of women keeping silent in the church if you don't know about the temple prostitution in the city.

I agree.

Disciple1 - you will never know why the women sat where they did in the Temple, or about the woman at the well, or the man carrying the water jug as a sign of where Yeshua wanted to eat with his disciples, or why Luke 2:4 appears to have an error in the verse etc etc etc. You are missing enormous amounts of information, some critical some not so, in your understanding of Scripture, in both the Tanach and the Christian Testamemt (OT & NT).

I was addressing the poster to whom you had posted by adding weight to your response. I did not make that point very clear.

I have amended my post. I wouldn't dream of suggesting you are not aware of these things.
