I post this with some trepidation as I have only been divorced since November of 2013 and am not currently "looking" for a relationship... But, I am single, 46, and a Christian, so it seems it would be proper to introduce myself.
I was married for 20 years to a vivacious Christian woman, raised two great kids, and am proud of them. Our marriage ended somewhat amicably and mutually.
I grew up in Idaho the son of a professional big game hunter and stepson of a cop. I still hunt occasionally but no longer have a passion for it. I do love the outdoors and am pretty much a traditional, conservative manly man. I work on cars, drive a lifted truck, own a little camper, a little pontoon boat that I use for fishing, and am pretty darn good with firearms.
I served in the US Navy for four years, then Army Guard for six years. I love my country, but am acutely aware it is no longer the country I grew up in.
I go to a little non-denominational church four blocks from my house and try to go every Sunday, but haven't been for three weeks in a row now due to camping with my family. I'm a published author and am currently working on a novel. I don't have a passion for writing, but have been told I am really, really good at it when I want to be and see it as a way of expressing myself in a positive way.
I have had many careers; most in law enforcement or government service. I spent the last eight years in the insurance industry; the last five or so doing claims investigations in Phoenix. I gained 100lbs due to stress and sitting at a desk 10 hours a day making pretty good money and not paying attention to my family; hence the divorce.
After the divorce, I moved back home to Idaho and am slowly rebuilding my life. I make half what I used by building utility industry technology components in a low stress environment. I bought a modest little home in a friendly little town about fifteen miles from where I grew up.
I'm happy, blessed, and slowly losing weight. I thank God every night for the blessings in my life and pray for continued health, wisdom, and grace.

Hi all 
I'm not new to CF but I haven't been on in a long time. I believe when I was on last I was just separated but now I've been divorced for a year.
Now trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life.

I am not new, but haven't been around much and not for quite a while. I am 45. I live in Texas. I attend church nearly every week and participate in a small group. I work at a non-profit Christian organization. My kids are adults.
