  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I haven't worked out since July 4th due to nerve pain and not wanting to make the problem worse. I look forward to the time I have surgery and recover so I can start working out again.
I'm so sorry! I hope you feel better soon!

God bless

I don't have a lot of trouble with my weight. I'm a shrimp and only weigh around 70kg, which is more or less my target weight.

I got to the gym a couple of times a week and I should be running more, but I'm OK for my age.

From what I've read above the X3 bar system seems to be a compact system?

Any comments on it?

I like it, but I had to buy the long bar to go with it, the one that comes with it was too small for me.
You can find them on EBay for better prices than buying direct

Running can be quite intense and potentially cause injuries on the shins and knees if overdone being "high impact" exercise. If you're already running even if minimally, you're good already.

Most older individuals around my place prefer cycling (low impact) to running as their main cardio exercise. Most of the runners around my place are <40 years old.

However, cycling can weaken the bones if you skip off-bike strength training (lifting weights, bands, etc at least one session per week) and don't have enough calcium in diet especially if you're cycling many hours per week. It may even be necessary to increase calcium intake.

My surgery is 12/23. They are doing a laminectomy and putting screws at L4-L5.
I will have to be careful when I start working out again
God bless you

Well July 4th 2024 was the last day that I worked out. September 25th 2024 was the last day I worked. I had surgery December 23rd and January 6th I had a blood clot in my leg and one went to my lungs.
I have to use a walker or crutches to get around. I weigh 370
I have started Weight Watchers and I am going to start working out with bands and chair workouts
