I disagree.I don't.
No argument there.TCassidy said:God inspired the Hebrew and Greek.
But ... as you went on to say ... He did it by having it translated into another language, before the old language becam obsolete.TCassidy said:God preserved the Hebrew and Greek.
Interesting word choice.TCassidy said:Scholarly men translated the Hebrew and Greek into English.
Then maybe you should go back and re-read what I'm saying ... um ... professor.TCassidy said:In fact, it is you who usurps the place of the Holy Spirit by telling people to only use the KJV while saying all other English versions are "per-versions" and Satanic bibles.
Are you using the New King James Version? In which version of the KJV is it all in caps? It isn't in mine.
God superintended those re-writings, just like He superintended the writing of the KJB.
That means that when a translator sat down and tried to write, GOD CREATED THE HEAVENS (plural), his hand couldn't make the letter S.
I was saved in an IFB church. You must be one of those Southern Baptists or something, eh?
There are three "heavens" ... or "firmaments" ... mentioned in the Bible. The reason for the word "heaven" in the KJV of the Bible is that one of the three creation elements was created.
Oh, joy.I was saved in an IFB church.
I was baptized in an IFB church.
I was married in an IFB church.
I was educated in an IFB Seminary.
I pastored an IFB church (the same church for 27 years)
I taught at an IFB college.
I taught at an IFB Seminary for 25 years.
I think my IFB credentials are sufficient.
And once again your ignorance is being openly displayed.1. AV330 Gothic Version
2. AV700 Anglo-Saxon Version
3. AV1389 Wycliffe
4. AV1525 Tyndale
5. AV1560 Geneva Bible
6. AV1568 Bishop's Bible
7. AV1611 King James Bible
There are three "heavens" ... or "firmaments" ... mentioned in the Bible.
First Heaven = our atomosphere = 0 - 62 miles up
Second Heaven = outer space = 62 miles - edge of physical universe
Third Heaven = Heaven proper
Yes.One of their doctrines?
Then that site is wrong.Aman777 said:
You just don't get it, do you, chief? The third "Authorized Version" was the version of 1611, as claimed by the title page. However, King James I neglected to issue a Royal Warrant to that effect so, technically, the KJV of 1611 is not now nor ever was an "Authorized Version" regardless of what the title page may claim.
And, of course, none of the subsequent editions have been authorized by the Crown.
Yes, I do get it. Unlike you.You just don't get it, do you, chief?
Henry VIII authorized the Great Bible to "be read in the Church." Queen Elizabeth authorized the Bishops' Bible "to be read in the Church."Who do you think is doing the authorizing?
Neither. James neglected to issue a Royal Warrant authorizing the English Version of 1611. And no subsequent revision of the English Version of 1611, including but not limited to, the Revision of 1762 (called the Cambridge edition) the Revision of 1769 (called the Oxford edition, the most common KJV in print today) and the Revision of 1873 (commonly called the Schrivener Cambridge edition) was so authorized.King James or God?
No.If I went to your church and/or seminary, would I find hymnals where "the Blood" is replaced with "the Cross"?
I knew Lester Roloff and counted him as a friend. Unfortunately, after his death, some troubling things were revealed about him and his relationship to one of the girls in one of the homes. And what's your take on Lester Roloff, Bob Jones, and Mack Ford?
Oh, wait!Shall we leave it at that?
I knew Jack well and counted him as a friend. In the earlier years of his ministry he had a friend and mentor, John R. Rice, who kept him on the straight and narrow.Oh, wait!
One more, if you would please?

No. First copyright 1928, last one 1975 It's a chain reference published by Zondervan. Are you using the New King James Version?
Alright, TC ... thank you for all the information.
Interesting.No. First copyright 1928, last one 1975 It's a chain reference published by Zondervan.
No it's not Thompson. Lawson maybe, but he may have just done the color coding and not the chain reference. I bought it in 1977 so I probably couldn't find anything online about it now.Interesting.
Is that a Thompson Chain Reference you're talking about?
In any case, His name needs to be in all caps.
