The question I have is how do we know Nachmanides is correct?

How many people do we know from 1,000 years ago? Few people make a name for themselves that endures time. But the point is that Nachmanides could not have been influenced by modern science.

So what did God need to create after the flood the onlything missing was Adam so God proceeded to create him the result was Israel

Hos 11:1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt

So Israel is Gods son and as such would be the image of God his father this also applies to Christ both are Gods sons.

There are a lot of YEC people who believe "The First Day" is a literal 24 hour day. So in the literal Bible what happened on this first "day"? Usually they God created

the Earth on the first day. But what does "Earth" mean in this verse? We are told "the earth was without form, and void". We have a ton of questions here and so far we have only defined ONE word, the word DAY. There are a lot of words here that need defined but it is usually agreed that we are talking about the word "earth". So WHAT does this word: "earth" mean in the literal Bible. JUST THE BIBLE. If you want to ONLY use the Bible to define the word DAY then we have to apply the same rule to the word: "Earth". What does JUST the BIBLE say the word "Earth" means? Then we have to go though all the words to look at just what the literal Bible says. You reject science for what a day is so it is only fair that you can not use science to define what the rest of the words in the passage say or mean. GAP people say there was a GAP of time between beginning and "the earth was without form and void". We see this term used also in Jeremiah 4:23 "I looked at the earth, and it was formless and void; and at the heavens, and their light was gone." The Bible defines the Bible so how do we use these terms in Jeremiah to understand what the term "formless and void" means in Genesis one. No cheating. You can not use Science because you have already rejected science when you define day as a 24 hour day. So we can not use science to define any of the other words in the literal passage. In the literal bible what was Jeremiah: "looking" at?

In both it speaks of a world without GOD. The heavens were without light. The light is Jesus Christ. The greater light (sun) is the Gospel. The lesser light (moon) is the Old Testament. The moon does not have its own light but reflects the light of the sun. The stars are the people of faith who have the light within them through Jesus Christ.

If what God created before the Flood did not matter, why did God cause it to be described in His Word? Of course it matters. It tells us how everything that God created was "very good" to begin with. It tells us how sin entered the world, and how God judged it, and even in embryo form, the provision of God's salvation.

I can't answer for all people of course, just for myself. I believe it mainly because the bible says it. Over and over, we read, "A nd the evening and the morning were the .... day," which would make no sense if the days of creation were in fact many years. Nor would the commandment for a weekly day of rest make any sense if Creation days were many years long:

“9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day [is] the Sabbath of the LORD your God. [In it] you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who [is] within your gates. 11 For [in] six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that [is] in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.” (Ex 20:9-11 NKJV)

I don't agree that God originally created a multitude of men in His image. We read:

“And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” (Ge 2:7 NKJV)

"His nostrils", not "Their nostrils", and "a living being" not "living beings".

I know the verse you quoted says "Let them have dominion...." but I take that as God looking forward to the not-too-distant time when the descendants of the first human pair would be a sizeable number.

Gen 13:16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

So from the dust of the earth thats Adams seed Christ would make man in the image of God.

Of course the first day is a literal 24 hour day. Is there any other day that I’m not aware of. On the first day God created the heaven and the earth. And he created light. An evening and a morning confirms the Bible is teaching a literal day. When the Bible says Christ spent 40 days in the wilderness he meant 40 literal days. Jonah was in the belly of the fish for 3 literal days. Christ resurrected 3 literal days after his death. God provided time references often in the Bible.

Thank you for your reply Israel and Christ went into Egypt and God called both of them out of Egypt both are the sons of God as stated

Israel is the man of flesh which must come first Christ is the man of spirit the man of flesh cannot enter heaven he must be changed this will happen when Christ returns interesting to note that Israel is back on the worlds map after 2000 years Gods word always come true

You do understand that was a hyperbolic statement in describing God's patience...plus that verse also says 1000 years = 1 day...so your 6 1000 year days are back to 6 days. Just plain silly argument - who does that or even thinks thats legit. Jonah was not in the belly of the fish for 3000 years. Jesus did not rise 3000 year slater.

The Bible tells us they were 6 literal days (evening and a morning). If you can't believe Moses - you certainly can't believe Christ.
