Brother, happy Sabbath, starting this Friday June 23, 2023 at 12:48 pm EDT! Gentiles are not God's people! Gentiles are those who are not God's people. Those of us who follow Jesus are now part of "all Israel"

remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ... Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household (Ephesians 2:12,13,19 NIV)
And what does having been included in Christ have to do with this Friday's afternoon vigil?
Jew and Gentile Reconciled Through Christ
Now that faith has come...there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Abraham’s seed, heirs according to the promise. Gal 3:25-29

United in our hope for the soon return of Jesus, Jorge
Yet I am writing you a new commandment, which is true (is realized) in Him and in you, because the darkness ( blindness) has cleared away and the true Light (the revelation of God in Christ) is already shining. 1 John 2:8 Eph 5:14

Those are interesting ideas, but hardly conclusive.
Brother, happy Sabbath, starting this Friday June 30, 2023 at 12:48 pm EDT! What convinces me that it was written by Paul is that the book of Hebrews knows the truth about the days of the week God established in Genesis, being from morning to morning, unknown to humans to this day. These morning to morning days of the week were misunderstood since Joshua to be evening to evening because of the Sabbath in Jerusalem falling half a day earlier than the seventh day of the week. This tells me that the book of Hebrews is inspired and God's chosen prophet to deliver such messages was Paul, as God tells us below.

But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.” (Acts 9:15-16 NLT)

We know Paul is the one chosen by God to deliver these messages because that is what God said He would do after Moses.

Moses continued, “The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him. For this is what you yourselves requested of the LORD your God when you were assembled at Mount Sinai. You said, ‘Don’t let us hear the voice of the LORD our God anymore or see this blazing fire, for we will die.’ “Then the LORD said to me, ‘What they have said is right. I will raise up a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites. I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell the people everything I command him. I will personally deal with anyone who will not listen to the messages the prophet proclaims on my behalf. But any prophet who falsely claims to speak in my name or who speaks in the name of another god must die.’ (Deuteronomy 18:15-20 NLT)

This correction of the days of the week since Joshua is also the reason I believe in the inspiration of our prophetess Ellen White. Though she herself did not understand this truth about the days of the week being from morning to morning during her lifetime, her writings know of the days of the week being from morning to morning, written for our understanding since the beginning in Genesis. The inspiration in her writings knows of the true days of the week since Genesis, making her inspiration the same inspiration that has been with us since the beginning of Genesis. God told us through her to pay attention to "when it is" that evening falls being "directed back to the first rise of the Sabbath", but she did not understand "when it is" that evening falls when she "followed the people of God up to this time".

I saw that it is even so: “From even unto even, shall ye celebrate your Sabbath.” Said the angel: “Take the word of God, read it, understand, and ye cannot err. Read carefully, and ye shall there find what even is, and when it is.” I asked the angel if the frown of God had been upon His people for commencing the Sabbath as they had. I was directed back to the first rise of the Sabbath, and followed the people of God up to this time, but did not see that the Lord was displeased, or frowned upon them. I inquired why it had been thus, that at this late day we must change the time of commencing the Sabbath. Said the angel: “Ye shall understand, but not yet, not yet.” Said the angel: “If light come, and that light is set aside or rejected, then comes condemnation and the frown of God; but before the light comes, there is no sin, for there is no light for them to reject.” I saw that it was in the minds of some that the Lord had shown that the Sabbath commenced at six o'clock, when I had only seen that it commenced at “even,” and it was inferred that even was at six. I saw that the servants of God must draw together, press together. (Testimonies for the Church, vol. 1, Page 116)

As she tells us "directed back to the first rise of the Sabbath" in Genesis, I came to understand "when it is" that "evening" falls on the first day. As a Seventh-day Adventist educated in our history, I knew what the word translated as "evening" in our Bibles means in the original language: sunset or the setting of the sun. I understood in Genesis that you cannot have the sunset before having sunlight, placing the first "evening" after God said "let there be light". An "evening" can only occur after light and falls in the middle of the first day, in the special case of the first day, between first light to light again in the morning. Before the light, there was "darkness" and not an "evening". Those are different words that are not interchangeable.

Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.” And evening passed and MORNING came, marking the first day. (Genesis 1:3-5 NLT)

And what does having been included in Christ have to do with this Friday's afternoon vigil?
Brother, happy Sabbath, starting this Friday June 30, 2023 at 12:48 pm EDT! We are to keep the Sabbath in the new covenant corrected from Judaism's sabotage of the ten Commandments because Jesus' new commandment is added to the previous Ten Commandments and does not replace the Ten Commandments. Paul corrects Judaism's human tradition of the Sabbath in the Fourth Commandment being wrongly assumed in Jerusalem to be the same as the seventh day of the week since Joshua. Paul, in Hebrews, tells us that for 40 years near Jerusalem, those who died in the desert as punishment were not allowed to enter God's "day" of rest on the Sabbath near Jerusalem for 40 years. Paul tells us the "day" of rest they were prevented from entering for 40 years is the Sabbath by taking this "day" of rest back to creation in the following statement: "They will never enter my rest, even though this rest has been ready since he made the world. We know it is ready because of the place in the Scriptures where it mentions the seventh day: On the seventh day God rested from all his work." In brief, God, by "oath", prevented them from entering the Sabbath by having those who died during the 40 years near Jerusalem as punishment, keep with Manna the wrong Sabbath near Jerusalem by having them observe as in Eden the right seventh day of the week. The Sabbath that they later corrected to enter the right "day" of rest in Jerusalem was half a "day" before the right seventh day of the week they had kept during the 40 years earlier with Manna as punishment near Jerusalem.

God’s promise of entering his rest (ready since he made the world) still stands (as taught for 40 years in the desert not to be the same as the seventh day of the week in Jerusalem), so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it (by failing to correct the error in Judaism since Joshua). For this good news—that God has prepared this rest (ready since he made the world)—has been announced to us (by Paul in the book of Hebrews) just as it was to them (having been taught for 40 years in the desert that the Sabbath is not the same as the seventh day of the week near Jerusalem). But it did them (like Joshua) no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God (which blinded them to the fact that the Sabbath in Jerusalem is not the same as the seventh day of the week in Jerusalem). For only we who believe (Paul's second chance to correct the Sabbath in the book of Hebrews) can enter his rest (on the true Sabbath worldwide fixed in the time zone of creation in Eden and not just a human tradition in Judaism correct in Jerusalem but nowhere else). As for the others (who perished in the desert), God said, “In my anger I took an oath (preventing the removal of the punishment even if God forgave them): ‘They will never enter my rest (ready since he made the world),’” even though this rest (on the Sabbath) has been ready since he made the world (having been established on the first week of creation in Eden). We know it is ready because of the place in the Scriptures where it mentions the seventh day: “On the seventh day God rested from all his work” (establishing the Sabbath in Eden). But in the other passage God said, “They will never enter my place of rest” (by "oath" God prevented them with Manna from entering the right Sabbath near Jerusalem). So God’s rest (ready since he made the world) is there for people to enter (when corrected from human error since Joshua), but those who first heard this good news (who died in the desert) failed to enter because they disobeyed God (being punished with manna for 40 years to prevent them from entering the correct Sabbath near Jerusalem). So God set another time for entering his rest (ready since he made the world), and that time is today (through Paul's second chance to correct the Sabbath in the book of Hebrews). God announced this through David much later in the words already quoted: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.” (when you listen to the facts of the true seventh day of the week from morning to morning found in Genesis and in the story of Manna) Now if Joshua had succeeded in giving them this rest (ready since he made the world), God would not have spoken about another day (which is a half a day earlier than the seventh day of the week in Jerusalem) of rest (ready since he made the world) still to come. (when Judaism's human tradition that the Sabbath is the seventh day of the week in Jerusalem is corrected from human error recognizing that it falls in Jerusalem a half day before the seventh day of the week). So there is a special rest (where the Sabbath is not the same as the seventh day of the week) still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest (ready since he made the world) have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. (giving us a fixed Sabbath in the time zone of creation in Eden) So let us do our best to enter that rest (ready since he made the world). But if we disobey God (keeping the human tradition in Judaism), as the people of Israel did, we will fall. (because the Sabbath is foundational in the new covenant in giving certainty over many other truths in the Bible that prepare us for Jesus' soon return) (Hebrews 4:1-11 NLT overlaid with commentary)

This Sabbath as different than the seventh day in Jerusalem is verified in the following passage, where the Sabbath in Jerusalem ends on an evening before the seventh day of the week in Jerusalem ends on a morning. The fact is that Sunday is never used in the Bible and where Sunday is translated in the Bible, it actually refers to Saturday. No one until now had questioned that God's expression: "the first of the Sabbaths" refers to something other than Sunday when referring to Saturday, another way of referring to the seventh day of the creation week we call Saturday. This expression by God for Saturday is necessary because the Sabbath falls between two days of the week in the Promised Land. The Sabbath in the Promised Land falls and takes halves between Friday and Saturday, so you only get half of a Friday and half of a Saturday in the Promised Land, with a Sabbath taking halves between those two days, giving us the following order: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sabbath, and Saturday, the Sabbath being an eighth division in the seven-day week.

361381_ff7aae7ab7169d40699276fc6f90eac7.png

The "evening" ending the Sabbath in the Promised Land is part of Saturday, as shown in the passage below where God uses an expression that was not previously understood: "the first of the Sabbaths". This expression refers to the first Sabbath of creation week or another way of saying the seventh day of the week that we call Saturday. I will use Saturday for the seventh day as different from the Sabbath, which is separate from the seventh day in the Promised Land, to correct the translation of this "expression" of God. Below, "as it dawns beyond Saturday" refers to the end of the second half of Saturday, the night half from evening to morning, where Jesus rose on a Saturday night after the Sabbath in the Promised Land and before the morning begins Sunday, as the days of creation are corrected from human tradition since Joshua by Paul in Hebrews. This means, Jesus rose on a Saturday night, after the Sabbath ended in the "evening", as that same "evening" began what God called "night" until Sunday began in the "morning". We speak from the point of view of what begins in the "morning", when the Bible speaks from the point of view of what ends in the "morning".

long after the Sabbath (evening), as it dawns beyond Saturday (morning), came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary, to see the tomb. (Mathew 28:1, my own translation)
Jew and Gentile Reconciled Through Christ
Now that faith has come...there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Gal 3:25-29
The reconciliation is due to Jesus having removed the human traditions in Judaism that were added to God's "order" through the prophets like Moses, which Paul refers to as "law" alone in general. Paul is not using "law" alone in general as we think of it. Paul uses "law" alone to refer to all the human laws of Judaism made clear by comparing Judaism to Hagar, added to God's "order" through the prophets that Jesus has freed us from, because this human "law" "shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people's faces".

“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either. “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you cross land and sea to make one convert, and then you turn that person into twice the child of hell you yourselves are! “Blind guides! What sorrow awaits you! For you say that it means nothing to swear ‘by God’s Temple,’ but that it is binding to swear ‘by the gold in the Temple.’ Blind fools! Which is more important—the gold or the Temple that makes the gold sacred? And you say that to swear ‘by the altar’ is not binding, but to swear ‘by the gifts on the altar’ is binding. How blind! For which is more important—the gift on the altar or the altar that makes the gift sacred? When you swear ‘by the altar,’ you are swearing by it and by everything on it. And when you swear ‘by the Temple,’ you are swearing by it and by God, who lives in it. And when you swear ‘by heaven,’ you are swearing by the throne of God and by God, who sits on the throne. (Matthew 23:13-22 NLT)
Yet I am writing you a new commandment, which is true (is realized) in Him and in you, because the darkness ( blindness) has cleared away and the true Light (the revelation of God in Christ) is already shining. 1 John 2:8 Eph 5:14
The following passage tells us that Jesus has given us an Eleventh Commandment with the phrase "one thing" that you have not done, after answering the question with: you know "the commandments". Jesus' answer makes the "one thing" you haven't done an additional commandment. Consistent with us knowing the additional commandment in the new covenant of following Jesus' example.

Once a religious leader asked Jesus this question: “Good Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked him. “Only God is truly good. But to answer your question, you know the commandments: ‘You must not commit adultery. You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. Honor your father and mother.’” The man replied, “I’ve obeyed all these commandments since I was young.” When Jesus heard his answer, he said, “There is still one thing you haven’t done. Sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” (Luke 18:18-22 NLT)

The new Eleventh Commandment was not possible before Jesus, as we could not have "followed" the example of Jesus' life before His arrival, allowing us to "surpass" the glory of the previous Ten Commandments by Jesus' example, as superior to commandments given without an exemplary life to follow. Judaism sabotaged God's commandments by adding their own laws in a "human effort", as in the story of Hagar, to fulfill God's promise of separating sin from our character thanks to the cycle of forgiveness of our High Priest in the temple in heaven.

He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant (Eleven Commandments). This is a covenant not of written laws (Ten Commandments), but of the Spirit (reminding us to follow the exemplary life of Jesus). The old written covenant ends in death (sabotaged by human effort as in the story of Hagar); but under the new covenant, the Spirit gives life (reminding us to follow the exemplary life of Jesus). The old way, with laws etched in stone (Ten Commandments), led to death (sabotaged by human effort as in the story of Hagar), though it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses’ face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away. Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the new way (Eleven Commandments), now that the Holy Spirit is giving life (reminding us to follow the exemplary life of Jesus)? If the old way (Ten Commandments), which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new way (Eleven Commandments), which makes us right with God! In fact, that first glory was not glorious at all compared with the overwhelming glory of the new way (Eleven Commandments). So if the old way (Ten Commandments), which has been replaced, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new (Eleven Commandments), which remains forever! (2 Corinthians 3:6-11 NLT overlaid with commentary)

As I understand the idea, it's that the Sabbath day starts for everyone around the world at the same time: sunset in Jerusalem. That time moves a bit throughout the year, like summer to Winter, so the minute that the Sabbath starts varies.

I'm just saying this because our brother @guevaraj may not be back for another week :)

Such things are only a shadow of what is to come [Heb 9:11] and they have only symbolic value; but the substance [the reality of what is foreshadowed] Heb 7:16 is in Christ. Colossians 2:17

They have not distinguished between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them. Ezek 22:26

What God has cleansed, do not call impure. Acts 10:15

To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; Titus 1:15

Brother, read on and you will see that Paul is talking about "human teachings" that "provide no help in conquering a person's evil desires" and not Jesus' Eleven Commandments in the new covenant given to provide "help in conquering a person's evil desires".

You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as, “Don’t handle! Don’t taste! Don’t touch!”? Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them. These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires. (Colossians 2:20-23 NLT)

Jesus used Paul in the book of Hebrews to correct the ancient human tradition that the Sabbath is the same as the seventh day of the week when God showed by "oath" for 40 years in the desert that keeping the seventh day of the week with Manna does not enter the Sabbath near the Promised Land. The Sabbath that Joshua, after the Manna stopped, entered half a day before the seventh day in the Promised Land without paying attention to the change. Showing that the Sabbath in the Promised Land is entered in the time zone of creation in Eden, an error since Joshua humans have not listened to correct for more than 3,000 years. Once again, Joshua mistook the Sabbath in the Promised Land from evening to evening as the seventh day of the week when, after the Manna punishment had ceased, Joshua entered the Sabbath half a day earlier than the seventh day in the desert, kept from morning to morning with Manna, but Joshua paid no attention to the change.

For all who have entered into God’s rest (ready since he made the world) have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world (giving us a fixed Sabbath in the time zone of creation in Eden). So let us do our best to enter that rest (ready since he made the world).

Such things are only a shadow of what is to come [Heb 9:11] and they have only symbolic value; but the substance [the reality of what is foreshadowed] Heb 7:16 is in Christ. Colossians 2:17

Not carnality but Christ
So do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. Col 3:9-11

Brothers and Sisters, Paul assumes the listener knows what is written elsewhere and uses summary words like "the law" where the word has already been expanded elsewhere. When Paul uses the word law, unqualified, he is referring to the law of Judaism Jesus has freed us from as accepted in the Jerusalem council expressed by James. The Jerusalem council did not abandon Moses and everything that came before Moses when it provided a seed list to add to, allowing the adoption of Moses and everything before Moses by the gentiles who were turning to God free of the added human traditions of Judaism that Jesus was against in the following passage.

James was not limiting what we need to obey, he was giving us permission to adopt Moses without forcing the human traditions of Judaism on us Gentiles, as we turn to God by giving us a seed, a beginning to add to. James saw us as the fulfillment of the prophecy where God would "restore the fallen house of David" as we listened to Moses every Sabbath. What that means is the equivalent of continuing Judaism without human traditions. The human traditions in Judaism led to death by sabotaging God's Ten Commandments so as not to take away sin that would otherwise have been taken away if they had done what God asked, instead of replacing what God asked with their own rules, in their "human effort" to help them obey the law by sabotaging the law so as not to take away sin, which made the law easier to bear. For example, in order not to use God's name in vain, Judaism added the human rule not to pronounce God's name to help obey God's law by preventing them from having to learn not to misuse His name. Judaism managed to bypass the active part of taking away their sin by replacing God's law with their own rule not to utter God's name at all.

When they had finished, James stood and said, “Brothers, listen to me. Peter has told you about the time God first visited the Gentiles to take from them a people for himself. And this conversion of Gentiles is exactly what the prophets predicted. As it is written: ‘Afterward I will return and restore the fallen house of David. I will rebuild its ruins and restore it, so that the rest of humanity might seek the LORD, including the Gentiles—all those I have called to be mine. The LORD has spoken—he who made these things known so long ago.’ “And so my judgment is that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. Instead, we should write and tell them to abstain from eating food offered to idols, from sexual immorality, from eating the meat of strangled animals, and from consuming blood. For these laws of Moses has been preached in Jewish synagogues in every city on every Sabbath for many generations.” (Acts 15:13-21 NLT fixed)

Paul is against the "human effort" in Judaism, as in the story of Hagar, to sabotage the law of God to not remove sin, sin that the law of God is meant to remove. For example, Judaism obeyed not to misuse God's name by not pronouncing His name at all, when their human rule stops the purpose of God's Commandment to separate the sin of misusing His name from our character thanks to the practice gained by the cycle of forgiveness made clear in the animal sacrifices. God's Commandment is meant to separate that sin from our character, that Judaism prevented with their rule that leads to death, because they are preventing God's laws from separating sin from our character.

Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law (of Judaism), does that mean we can go on sinning (lawlessness)? Of course not (don't misunderstand God's grace)! Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey (sin or God)? You can be a slave to sin (lawlessness), which leads to death (like Judaism's example of sabotaging God's Ten Commandments to not remove sin), or you can choose to obey God (Eleven Commandments), which leads to righteous living (freedom from sin). Thank God (Jesus's many forgivenesses as our High Priest allowing us to grow in obedience through practice of the Eleven Commandments)! Once you were slaves of sin (lawlessness), but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you (Eleven Commandments). Now you are free from your slavery to sin (when you obey God's Eleven Commandments), and you have become slaves to righteous living (obeying the Eleven Commandments). (Romans 6:15-18 NLT)

The sabotage of God's law found in Judaism, like the sabotage in the "human effort" in the story of Hagar, is expressed in the following passage.

Tell me, you who want to live under the law (the rules of Judaism that does not remove sin), do you know what the law actually says? (The law says what is sin) The Scriptures say that Abraham had two sons, one from his slave wife and one from his freeborn wife. The son of the slave wife was born in a human attempt to bring about the fulfillment of God’s promise (the promise to remove sin from our character). But the son of the freeborn wife was born as God’s own fulfillment of his promise. These two women serve as an illustration of God’s two covenants. The first woman, Hagar, represents Mount Sinai where people received the law that enslaved them (Judaism is enslaved in sin because they sabotaged God's law to not remove sin). And now Jerusalem is just like Mount Sinai in Arabia, because she and her children live in slavery (slavery to sin) to the law (added by the translators, not found in the original). But the other woman, Sarah, represents the heavenly Jerusalem. She is the free woman (free from sin), and she is our mother. As Isaiah said, “Rejoice, O childless woman, you who have never given birth! Break into a joyful shout, you who have never been in labor! For the desolate woman now has more children than the woman who lives with her husband!” And you, dear brothers and sisters, are children of the promise (the promise to remove sin from our character), just like Isaac. But you are now being persecuted by those who want you to keep the law (the rules of Judaism that does not remove sin), just as Ishmael, the child born by human effort, persecuted Isaac, the child born by the power of the Spirit. But what do the Scriptures say about that? “Get rid of the slave and her son, for the son of the slave woman will not share the inheritance with the free woman’s son.” So, dear brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman; we are children of the free woman. (Galatians 4:21-31 NLT fixed)

Hagar's son to Abraham came from the human will and not from God's will to give Abraham a son through Hagar. Hagar is not the will of God expressed on Mount Sinai but the "human attempt" to fulfill the will of God expressed on Mount Sinai. Therefore, it is not God's laws that are tied to Hagar, but human rules found in Judaism that come from sinful "blind guides" to use laws to accomplish God's will expressed on Mount Sinai, that Jesus says in the following passage: "shut the door of the Kingdom of heaven in people's faces". It is not God's laws expressed on Mount Sinai that "shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people's faces", it is Judaism's human replacement rules for God's laws that "shut the door of the Kingdom of heaven in people's faces".

Hypocrites! Paul said we do not void out the law through faith but we establish the law.

And the law is good, just, holy, and spiritual.

Which are the laws of love, moral laws, for they never depart.

Which a Spirit led life will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, for they have crucified the flesh with the lusts and affections, and show the ways of the Spirit.

And God will not allow them to be tempted above what they are able and will give them an escape from the temptation.

We always have to obey the laws of love, moral laws, which the 10 commandments are laws of love, moral laws,

Jesus took the physical ordinances of Israel out of the way nailing them to His cross for they were contrary to us which means they had no bearing on spiritual salvation.

So let no person judge you of the sabbath days for it is spiritual now and not a physical sabbath.

When a person has the Spirit that is their sabbath.

Which God said that in the New Testament He would speak to these people with stammering lips and another tongue saying this is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

Some people do not want to hear that it is a spiritual sabbath now and tell people to keep the physical sabbath but the Bible says let no person tell you to keep the physical sabbath.

The physical sabbath is for this Earth and Jesus went away to prepare a new place for the saints which is the new Earth so the saints celebrate that Earth which is spiritual.

Which the Bible says the saints are strangers on this Earth and seek a new home which is heavenly.

The contradiction is all in your mind, since Paul clearly promoted the faith. For by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. Gal 2:16
Christ our peace
And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone; Eph 2:17-20

To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (though I am reconciled to God under Christ’s law) so that the lawless [faithless Eph 2:12] might also gain Christ. 1 Cor 9:21

Paul did not say he became outside the law. He said he became as one outside the law. Big difference. It's like saying Jesus came in the likeness of sinful flesh means He was born in rebellion against God like you and I are.

Again, Paul knew that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; Gal 2:16

Scripture is clear, God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation; 2 Cor 5:17-18

What does that have to do with what Paul actually said?

It has to do with not seeking a righteousness of your own by the works of the law but through faith in Christ, my self proclaimed rebellious friend.
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Eph 5:6-8
