It seems every time one of the Democrat presidential candidates gets up to speak somewhere they have something 'free' they want to give to everyone. Of course there is a catch: You have to vote for them first.
So I thought it would be interesting to start up a list of all the 'free' stuff that will be available to us if we just elect a socialist-progressive leftist-Democrat as president. Just a few rules:
1. It has to be proposed, officially or otherwise, by one of the current/former Democrat candidates for president and include a citation.
2. An estimate of the cost of the 'free' stuff with a citation.
3. No GOP/Trump stuff. You want to make fun of them go start your own thread. Just don't expect a participation award for original thinking.
4. Have fun.......

The Bernie Sanders Medicare for all plan:

Watch live: Bernie Sanders delivers address on 'Medicare for All'

And the cost (with citation) of between 25 - 35 Trillion dollars over a 10 year period.

How much would 'Medicare for All' cost? Democrats' health care plan explained

Honestly, I need some health care right now that I can't afford and the idea is tempting.. my husband jokingly threatened this morning to vote for Bernie Sanders (although he is also willing to have me call him Pepe - in a fake Spanish accent - as we go to the border and get the help I need.. haha)

But just the thought of what 35 Trillion dollars over 10 years, and what kind of legacy we would be giving our grandchildren, even now I'd rather die than see that happen... for real..

But yeah.. I think this wins hands down for biggest price tag..

I will start things rolling:
Bernie Sanders’s free college proposal just got a whole lot bigger
Sen. Bernie Sanders’s proposal to make college free in the United States just got bigger: He wants to erase all student debt too. All $1.6 trillion of it.
https://www.vox.com/policy-and-poli...s-free-college-for-all-2020-student-loan-debt
I'm thinking people aren't paying all their student loan debt. That's why they are trying to erase them. But I like Warren's idea better. But I think it should only be the very poor. With top grades. Or those that can prove they are turning their livrs around. The cap should be way less than $100,000 a year.

Don't forget to subtract the money we (or our employers) won't be paying to insurance companies.

There also ought to be a public service commitment for Bachelors degrees and above.

Right - we spent $3.65 Trillion on healthcare in 2018 (citation). Multiplied by ten years and that comes to - you guessed it - $36.5 Trillion! Which is more than what Medicare for All is predicted to cost per the previous source.

Shall we just continue ever greater giveaways to people?
If so, who is left to pay for them?
Those policies seem to drive towards eventual totalitarian state ownership and little to no private ownership of anything.
"seem" being the operative term here, and then only to conservatives.

Nothing is free, people have to be paid, whether they are colleges or healthcare providers.

So, taxes would have to go up, no question.

Now, with 3 kids of my own, when i look at current yearly out of pocket medical expenses and the cost of college, i will fork over approx. 400k at least through college, right from my pocket.

The president is giving farmers money because of his trade war. You do not care about whether people get "free stuff," your hypocrisy is evident.
Please re-read rule #3.....

I believe able body people getting free health care, food stamps or anything should be doing some kind of community / public services. I dont see how our tax payers can deal with paying for everything. And receiving nothing in return.

Could you request the title be changed to "Democrat Bashing Thread" then?
So far everything people have posted about the candidates came from their own mouths with citations to show it......

That should be taught in sex education. Even on big Billboard signs. Advertising Birth Control.

Please go start you own thread if you want to talk about Trump.....
Of all the free stuff they're promising that's what I want the most.

(Some affordable healthcare would be nice too)
