• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As I said, not my point. Good bye.

Look, I get that your post is apparently not even about Alex Jones and am willing to forgive your off-topic rant, but what you wrote was about "the efforts of one political party to win the next presidential election by preventing the exercise of free speech".

Since it's off-topic here, maybe you can make a new thread where you can elaborate your peculiar theories about the applicability of the First Amendment to political parties.

The campaign to shut up people who are not politically correct has been ongoing for some time now, and this is simply the latest development in that movement (which was demonstrated when Facebook, Spotify, You Tube and other social media discovered on the same day (!) that this one outlet fails to meet their standards and so must go).

Private companies are considered "persons" and may control their own media.
They now can voice political speech as well.

Whether or not you like him, it should be clear that Alex Jones has the right to post the content that he posts.
Only on any platforms that approve his message.
Even public space like my local park has regulations
about how the space can be used.

So shutting down Alex Jones is sort of a Dem party project?

I dont see the other party coming to his rescue.
Google Senator Chris Murphy and include the words Alex Jones, or something like that, and see what you get (from that spokesman for the Democrat Party.

I dont fault anyone for speaking out against Alex Jones. It's a normal sane human response.

YouTube, Facebook, Spotify and Apple apparently decided it was a good idea to remove content associated with InfoWars and its founder Alex Jones. This is just one of many crimes of the regressive left. Whether or not you like him, it should be clear that Alex Jones has the right to post the content that he posts.

In context of the united States: IMO any non-Publically funded company should have the right to exclude or include anyone they wish to in their private domain, just like private individuals. If they receive any Public funds at all, then I expect them to uphold First Amendments rights.

Do you make a distinction between "not politically correct" and out and out fake news and conspiracy mongering such as promoting Pizzagate and the Sandy Hook massacre being a hoax?

My grandpa was Republican. He would have never been okay with hate speech . When did the Republicans start favoring hate speech? Or is the right or Conservative Christians different from Republican.
