such as promoting Pizzagate and the Sandy Hook massacre being a hoax?

His doing so caused real and tangible emotional damage to others, and he will continue to do so without regard until he suffers real and tangible damage himself. I have no sympathy for him and his followers. They love lies more than truth.

When did the Republicans start favoring hate speech?
I think it is for some Republicans when the Southern Strategy started winning elections. Half century of Southern Strategy is going to leave the party where many are willing to support a publicly racist president like Trump. Trump statements show much respect for Alex Jones so will Trump now attack those against Alex Jones?

What's "hate speech"?
False stories told to incite ire against people such as saying that Hillary Clinton and John Podesta ran a child sex trafficking operation out of the Comet Pizzeria basement or that the parents of the children murdered in Sandy Hook are paid actors, "crisis actors" who are in it only to cause trouble for money.

That's not hate speech. Alex jones is facing a Defamation lawsuit from the parents of the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting incident.

YouTube, Facebook, Spotify and Apple apparently decided it was a good idea to remove content associated with InfoWars and its founder Alex Jones. This is just one of many crimes of the regressive left. Whether or not you like him, it should be clear that Alex Jones has the right to post the content that he posts.

Youtube, Facebook, and Spotify are private businesses with rules against promoting violence or hate speech -- rules Jones has repeatedly violated.

The campaign to shut up people who are not politically correct has been ongoing for some time now, and this is simply the latest development in that movement (which was demonstrated when Facebook, Spotify, You Tube and other social media discovered on the same day (!) that this one outlet fails to meet their standards and so must go).

There’s a fair bit of space between people criticising political correctness in an intelligent and publicly useful manner, e.g Jordan Peterson, and characters like Alex Jones.

1. Who gets to define "false", 2. who gets to measure "ire", and 3. why is "ire" bad?

So do you believe that nobody was killed at Sandy Hook and that it's all a left-wing hoax?

If you don't, what information did you use to bring you to that conclusion? Or would you regard Alex Jones as reliable as any other possible source?

That will answer your question "Who gets to define 'false?'"

What is the sound of one hand clapping? Why is "murder" "wrong"? Who gets to decide that?

Yeah, it is. Falsely accusing people of selling children for sex is stirring up hate against them. Falsely accusing people of pretending their children were murdered - and this is over a course of years - for nefarious reasons was knowingly inciting hate against them for fun and profit.

I vote it is not Alex Jones.
Since the united States is (supposedly) a republic governed by laws applicable to measurable things, and not a democracy where the majority gets to shut down the minority, everyone can personally decide on matters that are not measurable in the physical realm - like free speech.

What is the sound of one hand clapping?

Why is "murder" "wrong"? Who gets to decide that?
Murder is wrong because it measurably transgresses against another person. There is no measurable transgression when it comes to free speech, therefore it is one of our fundamental rights.

I was not at Sandy Hook, and so I am agnostic about the matter.

I support the right to free speech, and the right for everyone to decide what is false speech for themselves ... I do not support the idea that one (or a few) chosen ones can or should forcefully decide for others or everyone else.

Yeah, it is.
No it's not.
Make no mistake, if they are really concern about hate speech, then his channel should have been banned years ago along other channels as well. They only doing this to avoid association with him when he is going to lose the lawsuit badly. I do not for a minute believe they are banning him out of the goodness of their hearts, rather they worried that their revenue stream is going negatively effected when he loses.

Of course that it true, but on the other hand, it is distressing to realize that so many Americans who grew up believing in freedom of speech now are not in the least worried by the efforts of one political party to win the next presidential election by preventing the exercise of free speech by anyone who does not agree with them.

Republicans ought to be embarrassed that they to rely on the Infowars crowd to win an election.

Your concerns about underhanded tricks to win an election ring especially hollow, given how you've dismissed concerns about Republicans' myriad steps to disenfranchise blocks of voters who lean Democrat.

The campaign to shut up people who are not politically correct has been ongoing for some time now, and this is simply the latest development in that movement (which was demonstrated when Facebook, Spotify, You Tube and other social media discovered on the same day (!) that this one outlet fails to meet their standards and so must go).

Alex Jones is not merely "politically [in]correct." Any decent person should rejoice at his fall.

Giving out the address of the parents of the victims is what I consider to be crossing the line. Unless you a believer in doxxing?
