• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Why do we always have to resort to cotton-pickin' labeling?!? Is your cause so weak that it can't stand on its own?

Not labeling Conklin. Just stating the facts. If the criteria for a non-traditionalist is any slight deviation from the fundamentals (and that has already been established as the criteria by others than myself) those who qualify must fall into that group.

Don't kill the messenger.

I never said God doesn't love these people.

You seem to be confused.

It's an issue of doing what is best for the people of this forum.

Obviously the fruit of our union is not testifying of the love of God, or manifesting the ways of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we need to split, because there are those of us in here that are quite tired of abusive progressives that have nothing better to do with their time than to try to indoctrinate us with their false ideas, and murmur and complain about the SDA church, Ellen White, and incessantly insult those that don't agree with them.

Sorry, but this is final. There is no turning back now. I've had enough.

My point is that it is not a fruit of the Spirit to stop arguing by going away from someone. The Spirit changes the heart, not always our circumstances.

There may be times when it makes sense to stay away. But that doesn't make it a fruit of the Spirit.

But Tall, here is something that I have a real problem with.

You and Woob BOTH voted for "stricter rules against personal attacks" to keep this forum together (I use that term lightly). I realize Woob has since changed his mind about not splitting.

Now neither one of you wants to help IMPLEMENT those rules?

I'm sorry, but that's not right.

I participated up to the point I could. Do you deny that?

Now I am moving and packing up everything we own, and I don't even know when I will get internet hooked up. What exactly would you have me to do?

You all wanted 4 day polls. Yet from the outset of that process there have been complaints that we want rules NOW.

It just doesn't work that way.

And this is one of the reasons why I no longer want to have this union. I agreed to keep the union on the condition that we would enforce stricter rules. I was told that we would do this. Yet, we never even began to do this.

So now I will no longer support this union.

We have been voting things. How do you propose we do it faster after you asked for 4 day polls?

You all set this up to fail from the beginning by demanding 4 day polls and then complaining constantly that we didn't have rules.

Well perhaps you will get what you want. But don't complain when you get it and you can't control what the other camp says.

What's going on in this forum is much more than mere disagreement.

I've had enough of this. I need a forum that will help me to draw closer to Christ. In its current state, this forum is not doing that.

Don't you dare tell me this!

I sent you a PM asking you to help me work on making up stricter rules after the previous poll for a split came to a close, and you never responded to me. So don't even go there, Tall!

Well, your announcement made it sound like you wouldn't be participating BECAUSE you resigned from the SDA church.

Is that the reason you decided not to participate or is it because you won't have internet?

I'm seriously confused here as to why you stated you won't be participating so I guess I need to find that thread.

The mod election polls lasted 7 days but we still had people that didn't get to vote because they were out of town or whatever. You can't make everybody happy, that's for sure.

It's Ok. I'm glad he voted. I want this to be as unbiased as the rules permit.

When this is over we will know if God wants us to split or not. I trust that the Lord will lead us in this.

I posted an FSB proposal in the wiki. Who said your inbox was the place to make rules?

And what you did was to send me a list of your demands and say I had to subscribe to them.

I resigned from the ministry, not the church. And I said I had things to figure out. That is quite true. Not only theology but where to live, what to eat, where to work.

I said I won't be participating in wiki process, votes etc. This is not the wiki process.

And once again you say absolutely nothing to Woob. who said the same thing as me.

Your double-standard attacks are tiresome.

No, I didn't send you as list of demands. I asked you to help me make up some rules. You never responded to me. Don't go there!

Don't try to do what Ice did to me! I have respect for you, Tall. Don't do it.

People, let's just stop this now. This thread is for voting, not arguing. Please respect my original request not to debate in here. I realize that I went off a little too, so I am not without fault. But at this time I am asking that we stop arguing in here, and just allow people to vote without conflict.

I have several pm's from you. Say the word and I will post them and let the people decide.
