Lisa if I am not mistaken (please forgive me if I am) after the 777 debacle many old Erwin posts were presented in which he said things like there would never be non-Christian moderators as long as he was Webmaster, and that the Nicene Creed would be the measure of a Christian as long as he was webmaster. When these were pointed out to you did you not respond with something like. "Haven't you ever changed your mind?"

If this was not you then I apologize.

He changed his mind!!!! Give me a break!!! He posted the poll AFTER the 7/7/7 changes....if he had changed his mind then why didn't he post an announcement saying - I'm going to ignore the poll that I posted and I'm going to do what I want...

He didn't do that - he never acknowledge that he was ignoring the vote of the majority...he just did it.

By the way, Erwin said that he would leave the CF direction up to the community, and started a poll. After some time, the votes in the poll were split almost in half, and some people wanted a third option. It seemed that the community was undecided, so Erwin decided to do what he felt was the best. I don't see anything wrong here.

Erwin, now I'm somewhat confused. Am I reading this correctly, that you bid on the new domain name on July 26, when folks on CF were still earnestly discussing the direction? If this is accurate, then could you explain a bit more about your process in coming to this decision?

But as it stands, it looks rather convicting on it's face.

I had taken a leave of absence for 3 months when this vote was taking place, AND I'M SAD THAT I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT TO PLACE MY VOTE.
Altho, I'm not sure my voice would have even mattered.

so the fact that it was happily called a Christian forum for years , and 99% of the people claimed to be Christians meant it wasn't distinctly Christian , what was it then ..... atheist!

My friend this site stopped being distinctively Christian on 777. So, no it doesn't matter that it was called Christian Forums for a few years or that the majority of the people who make it up claim to be Christian (remember anyone can claim to be a Christian now and believe anything they want)

Most of the people who work where I do claim to be Christian to, but that doesn't make it a "Christian" establishment.

I've been gone for about 9 months and I must say I hardly recognized the place when I came back earlier this week. I was reading trying to understand what was going on and I read one post that really summed it up well. With a poll going 45/55 whatever Irwin did he was going to upset a large group of people.

I personally am amazed at the vitriol aimed at Erwin in the thread. Wait... I'm at the place that was CF! No I'm not amazed at the vitriol aimed at him.

Well, my first thought when seeing the name change is "foru.ms"... That's a goofy name.

Erwin...I'm not going to lie to you...I'm disappointed. And I wish I knew how you came to this decision...truly. But, ultimately, this is your site. You've put many, many hours into it and I'm sure you've prayed much about what to do. So I opt to trust you with it and I will continue to be a member here...though I will continue to stay in my areas of safe haven. I do not wish to have to debate my faith everytime I turn around. Nor do I enjoy reading posts from people who hate God and the things of God...or those who water down the gospel so much it's no longer effective.

The reason I came here to begin with is because I wanted to fellowship with other like-minded believers from around the world. The title "uniting all Christians" intrigued me. And well...that's no longer what it reads is it? But I have met some truly lovely people on this site and hope to continue to meet more of the same here in the future.

As always, I will pray for you and all who come to this place.
