OK, I've reluctantly concluded that you don't actually live in the real world.

I see no point in going around and around in circles about what constitutes as a "good" reason for having an abortion; however, I will address this one point because I find it highly offensive you would accuse me of not living in "the real world". You know nothing about me nor do I care to divulge any aspects of my life that would completely contradict your claim and make you look presumptuous. But just to set the record straight, I know more about the "real world" at the age of 22 than I really would care to.

It's just a real shame for the "cause" that there is funding out there for women who live below the poverty line.

Either you're limited in your scope of what "anti-abortion" truly means or you're having fun playing Devil's advocate.

To me, "anti-abortion" means "I don't think people should be having abortions. I am personally opposed to abortions." How does that measure up to your own definition?

And no I'm not playing Devil's advocate, I'm simply trying to see the issue from someone else's point of view. I don't think it's good enough for me to condemn them out of hand (as if I'm some kinda perfect angel!), even though I disagree strongly with their decision.

I think it's more respectful for me to try and learn why they felt they had to make that decision in the first place.

Remember that Jesus condemned people (and forgave them, too) but he also understood them.

I'm just tryin to follow his example.

I'm gonna apologise in advance for sayin this, but if you honestly believe that poverty is the only reason for having an abortion that doesn't constitute "for convenience' sake", then you don't know as much about the real world as the average 15 yo.

And that's from a guy who's counselled a girl who started having sex at 13, got herself pregnant at the age of 14, kept the child, struggled to raise it, wound up in an abusive relationship with another guy (not the father) at the age of 16 and thereby condemned herself and the child to a life of abject misery.

I'll pray for you tonight.

You clearly stated that people make mistakes and that, while having unprotected sex is "stupid", having an abortion isn't for convenience sake.

Incidentally, that was your straw man.

What I actually said is that not every abortion is for convenience' sake. (You claimed that it is; I claimed that it isn't.)

I proved this claim by reference to the handy-dandy table listing the reasons women have given for having abortions.

You began ducking the issues and misrepresenting my argument pretty soon after this.

Face the facts, people are irresponsible and fetuses suffer for the mistakes of "consenting adults". People sure don't have any common sense. Is it easier to avoid sex until marriage or to have an abortion? Sex is not a necessity. Abortion is an industry that makes millions of dollars a year and that industry promotes their agenda just like tobacco companies used to promote their agenda. The problem is the gullibility of human beings, we always choose the path of least resistance. Planned parenthood and the like are peddling their wares to 12 year olds. Bunch of fruitcakes if you ask me. What business does the educational system have talking about sex to kids in elementary school? People are so hell-bent on sex that they are willing to go to just about any lengths to get it, to promote it, and to remove any opposition to their indiscriminant lifestyles.

I know some girls that had the same thing happen. Some kept their kids, some didn't. For those that kept their kids, it's called building character. And life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you respond to it. Life isn't easy, but if you keep taking the easy way out what message do you send to others? Think about this, if people actually kept their children others would think twice before jumping into the sack with someone else. I think that is the message we really want to send.

Good story. I'am 110% against Abortion. The Bible clearly states that we shall not murder.

Pro-Abortionests try to tell people that it's only the case of scraping some cells, that is so untrue. While in the Womb God knows of you as a Human.

Some people believe that it also places a curse onto the the person, I don't know anything about this or have read the scripture on it.

ok even if it isnt true its you could easily say the opposite in support of choice.
me and my boy friend were so in love! he even said he would marry me. but then i got pregnant, and his parents said they would do anything for me, but that was the last time i ever saw them. the doctors told me i was having complications that could be fatal. my parents told me that an abortion was unreasonable in the eyes of God and that i would go to hell. two weeks later, i died. i never saw my future husband or my loving family ever again. if only i could have had an abortion... choose choice.
