Wouldnt that be more expensive though? For example, I had ordered 150 of those mini 3x4 muslin bags (which really come in packs of 50 for around $9) where you wouldnt have to make bags out of them. I still ordered the tea bags also (these being of the disposable nature moreso) as I can use those for a multitude of other purposes.

Unless you are just using yours for a different purpose, because you actually purchased much more silica then I did, so I would think you would need more bags, and if you are cutting a larger one down to make 15 bags out of 3 of them for around $3 it would probably be worth less the trouble (and cost) to pick up those premade muslin bags premade for you.

I'll see where it heads~I'll be making some very small bags for ammo & gun storage, some larger ones for containers with food in them..but yeah in the long run the muslin bags would be a better deal...oh and I am going to try out some of the cat litter for its intended purpose :D

I hope not^_^

Although, on second thought, maybe you should stock up for a uniquely built homemade outhouse (fully stocked with this awesome absorbant kitty litter)?

You would have the freshest smelling outhouse in your neighborhood ^_^

I missed this post when I took off in my discust, and Im catching up, watch MrJim is no longer here.

We took our daughter to that when we live in PA what a fun little fair that was! It was the best with all the dress up (I just loved that time period) and really enjoyed that fair. We had dressed our daughter up in a little renaissance gown, she was thrilled to feel a part of all that theatre (I hated that I didnt dress up) lol

Everyone was just so cool there (Im jealous)

I know, I need to repent of that.

Yeah you can get all the better deals outside of Amazon (I agree) but you got pay for gas and spend the time to drive there. But that is one place I wouldnt mind taking the time to go and spend some time there, and so you tripped on a great deal of tea bags while you are there huh?

What luck, and of all the places to find them too.

Your mention of that place brought back some really great memories.

Good to see you again MrJim, God bless you

It used to be true that only fat free milk could be kept long
as a powder, but now powdered whole milk can be kept two
years or more. It still isn't quite 'real' milk, but I can drink it,
as opposed to that nasty fat free stuff.

I recently opened a box of instant mashed potatoes, something I'm not a huge fan of, and probable why it sat unopened in it's original box for 3 or 4 yrs. It was fine, and not even vacuum packed. The bag it was in was still air tight, but I fully expected to have to throw it out.

That, rice, beans, powdered milk, noodles, among other dry goods are cheap, and can be rotated so, just to have them around so I don't have to bother each time I go to the store is a great help, not to mention emergencies and just general peace of mind. I generally vacuum pack everything then put them in boxes to keep the light from them.
