  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I eat normally too... which includes Chocolate. ;) lol

The only things I cut out are herbs that I know aren't considered safe for pregnancy (or breastfeeding). Although I AM taking some right now to try to get rid of this Horrendous cough DH gave me.

The only thing I change in pregnancy is to cut out raw eggs and un-pasteurised dairy products. I haven't cheated on these. I also try to watch my calcium and iron intake (I'm really bad at getting enough of these in normal life:doh:) a little more carefully.

As for cheating in the sense of eating sugary or fatty foods, I 'cheat' every once in a while, not often. But I eat pretty healthily in every day life.

The only thing I've cut out is sandwich meat really...
It's expensive to get it kosher, and the stuff I want is invariably stuff like Pastrami and Salami... and the Dr insists it must be cooked all the way through -- and I refuse to eat charred meat. :p

Come to think of it, I haven't had sweet tea since my first trimester. I need to make some! :D

You ladies have nothing on me :)
There are these sour sugar straws that you can buy from Big W and I go through so many of them.....It is an addiction!

Glad I'm not the only one!

Well, its not any more cheating to eat breadsticks with cheesedip while pregnant than not right?? Either way its not good for you.... but I don't live perfectly healthy no....

No but it seems like all the pregnancy advice is to basically eat rice & brussel sprouts. (those are just 2 examples)

Sooo on that note I ate a cheeseburger & tater tots yesterday!

Can ya save me a glass.;)

I've had several hamburgers myself, mmmmmm, hamburgers. Now, however, I'm going to make myself some eggs with sliced tomatoes. Good, and good for me and Peanut...but not nearly as good as the few spoonfuls of frosting I just ate...mmmmmmm

:D

Doncha love a good ol' juicy burger every now & then! Man I wish I could have a tomato :yum: I'm supposedly allergic to them (after having a skin food test) & I don't wanna find out now.

I guess becuase it is my only real vice (well aside from the sugar sticks....)

Anyway the glucose is brain fuel!

Ooooo please tell cause it will make me feel better to go back to my sweet tea! Although I did have almost a full glass today along with a hot fudge sundae & fries from McDonald's!:yum: It's great to not be nauseous!:tutu:

Oh, geez. The "pregnancy diet" didn't last very long through my first pregnancy LOL I think women in their first pregnancy want to try and do everything "right" LOL

Let's see...this week I've had rare steak, coke, chocolate, cookies, ice cream, deli meat, tuna, and a bunch of other "bad" things I can't remember now LOL

Just try to eat healthy for the most part and don't worry about "cheating"!

oh maaaaaaaaaan was I bad yesterday! I ate almost a whole (small) M&M Package...!

I had thought of everything I felt like possibly having and the only thing that even slightly appealed were the peanut m&ms we had in the kitchen.... I felt so awful yesterday and not like fixing anything, super tired.. and I ate those and felt better but what was I thinking!?

I've got to get some more healthy snacks made this week or I'll really end up needing to be rolled out the door..!

I wouldn't overdo it too much on the sugar and simple carbs - just because it can grow a really big baby, but after the first trimester, it's really not as big a deal to watch what you are eating. The kiddo is just growing now. All the complicated stuff that food poisoning and over-caffination can mess with is already done. My OB practically recommended lots of fat and protein for pregnancy.

Do make sure you get lots of ice cream. My kiddo can't tolerate dairy so it will be years before I get ice cream again. If I had known that, I would have had a bowl every night I was pregnant.
