I've sure gotten old. I've had 2 By-pass surgeries. A hip replacement, new knees. Fought prostate cancer, and diabetes. I'm half blind, can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine, take 40 different medications that make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts. Have bouts with dementia. Have poor circulation, hardly feel my hands and feet anymore. Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92. Have lost all my friends. But.....Thank God, I still have my Florida driver's license!

Sounds almost like what most newbies in the Tampa area think of when Ybor city is mentioned. I have on occasion gone with some friends to a coffee house in Ybor where we will have a Christian band play and go out and witness to people who are out there to go to the clubs.

As you all can tell I am also from Florida. I am in the Tampa area Holiday to be exact, don't know how long I will be here though (Have applied for a job in Louisiana, and various places around Florida).

Hey, is that Joffrey's on seventh? Do you go through the Dream Center? I have done 3-4 missions trips with them. The Dream Center is a wonderful ministry. Inner City Tampa is a dark place, it really is on my heart, that is one of the reasons I am going to Tampa (USF) next year.

It's physically in the Southeast, but it isn't culturally.

Cool, I go to BCC central campus. I take night classes over their. I head over their monday 5-6:15 class, wensday 5-8:50 classes, and thursday 6:30-9:20 class. Yeah, I hear yeah on the non-christian friends. Most of the type are the party and lets get drunk type . If only met a few Christians at BCC's campuses and I wish there were more. Anyways, glad to see you make on the forum.

Culturally, in the northeast part of the state we are closer to South Georgia and Southern Alabama then the rest of the state is.

I don't think they do but I've never heard of one anywhere so I really don't know for sure. It sounds like fun though! I do know how hard it is to find guys to date! Its next to impossible! Let me know if you find any gathering of christian singles and I'll be there!

go to Florida Christian college, not hard to find guys to date there , or if you wanted to be fun you could go to Ozark Christian College and make it so there is more than 1 person from florida here.

Well, I'm a newly Saved Christian living in central Florida (Clermont, specifically) and I am extremely, extremely lonely. I need places to go, people to see... I have only two local friends here (my two roomies, one of whom I've known since college and the other of whom is his wife) and I've always been very clueless about where to go to meet people. I am absolutely aching for human contact and very lonely.

If anyone knows of any good churches, youth groups, hangouts, etc. in my area, any help would be so very much appreciated. I am starved for conversation, friendship and fellowship.

When I became a Christian, I lost a number of my friends. I am very much alone and need to find some friends who will truly care about me, and not just judge me by my past.
