  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well I guess that it's about tiome to start getting the ply wood out and planning for THE season. Gov. Bush has set aside the first week of June for no sales tax on hurricane supplies.

I've got a plan have you?

Yep.
My neighbors and I trimmed all 5 of the oak trees that surround our two houses Saturday and Sunday.
WOW!

What a HUGE stack of branches and brush!
3 chainsaws buzzing - one of them a 15 ft polesaw.
While I was on the roof I noticed a couple bad spots so
I climbed back up after we finished the trees and did some patchwork.
Outside of a few more supplies - like fresh batteries, I'm ready.

Moving from anywhere to Florida is culture shock.
Very true. But when I went to FSU I met dozens of people who were suffering from "Down South" shock moving to podunt little Tallahassee from Tampa, Orlando or Miami. I felt bad for them! The opposite effect is when people from like Quincy or Live Oak come to Tally, they think they've hit the big-time. Now *that's* funny!! = )
