Hi! I've lived in New England since 1986, but I'm from Florida. My husband shakes his head when I refer to FL as my home state. No matter how many years I live in CT, I don't think I will ever be able to call myself a "New Englander", even though I DO love the Red Sox.
Anybody here been to Shorty's BBQ in Miami...I mean the original on S.Dixie Highway...
(I'm having big rib cravings...there is NO REAL BBQ in New England!)

Ummmm, so far, I've discovered no real BBQ in Florida. I'm from Alabama, home of some of the best BBQ ever unleashed on the citizens of planet earth. I've eaten at about 4 or 5 BBQ places here so far in a few months time, and none of them are as good as the worst places back home.Wiffey said:Hi! WOW! SHORTY.S. The best BBQ in the south. shortys will put some south in your mouth. Is it still Screen windows with no AC just over head fans. Right where the metro rail starts. I moved from Miami 17 years ago. But when I go to Miami I allways visit Shortys. That place has been there forever. The early 70 I was going there.
It was nice going down memory lane .
