Born and raised a floridian. I'm in Gainesville now for college, but home used to be in St. Petersburg (Madeira Beach). I'm used to traffic that consist of 60% tourists who have no idea where they are going and 40% locals that have a bad case of road rage because of the aforesaid tourists.

I am!! my dad's side of the family are native floridians. We are from Quincy. Which is up by Tallahassee. We even have a town that is named the same as us. Florida Cracker Through & Through!!! We most likely go as far back as the Civil War.

When I was a lil kid I met my great grandmother who lived on the Seminole Reservation down south - what an amazing woman! Wish I had been older and known things to ask her. . .

Its beautiful up in Quincy, I have been there a few times myself. Have you heard of Betts town?? My family may be native floridian but we are not rednecks. We are sufisicated rednecks! LOL!! Fishing is a must! My 2nd cousin has annual fish fry's at his house and it is SSOO good!! We have a family recipe for the batter to fry the fish and its a must have!! We taught my hubby how to make it, since he is the cook at my house!!

LOLOLOL!!! There are quit bit of those around here!! Its nice to meet a fellow native!! My moms parents live down in polk. I think I meet new family members at every fish fry!! I jsut found out last week that one of the cousins is a member of an up incoming band named Mayday Parade. Pretty cool!!!

Not true born Floridian... just moved here from ND back in Feb. I am willing to admit that I am a northerner. Born and raised in ND, but now FL is my home. Been having some trouble adjusting though. Don't really know anyone down here...... Moved down here because I got married and my husband's family lives down here. I was getting tired of ND, and wanted the change, but I do miss all of my friends..........

But such is life. I'll survive..... Besides, Zolfo Springs isn't much larger than what I'm used to being from ND. (Yes I live in Zolfo................................) lol

Hello Floridians! Isn't it great to live in the state known as "God's waiting room"?

I've lived here for 5 years. The rest of my life I lived in the Chicago burbs. Big change in culture and climate. I miss my family up there, but...I don't miss the weather!
Just praying for no hurricanes!

Hey y'all! I just found this forum in CF, so I thought I would check it out and see what's happening in our neck of the woods.

As you can tell from my screename, I was born here in FL. I lived in South FL for most of my life - in fact, both of my sons were born at the same hospital I was. I just recently moved to the Space Coast and am grateful to have gotten away from the rat race that South Florida has become over the last several years.
