The shape of the earth saves no one.
The Bible does not teach that the earth is flat - never mind a flat disc that is 40,000 feet deep.
Christians who know that the earth is a sphere are not deceived, God-haters, truth haters or those who reject God's word. We are saved, are children of God and heirs with Christ.
You will be in heaven, and spend eternity, with globe earth believers whether you like it or not.
Telling God that his children are children of Satan and deluded Freemasons is foolish, to say the least.

Sorry, but I don't know what you mean to say by replying with a frowning face to my comment about how the Van Allen belts affect space rockets. Are you saying that you don't agree with this: "Astronauts must fly though the Van Allen Belts to reach outer space, so it is important to fly through this region quickly to limit their exposure to radiation. Sensitive electronics on satellites and space craft traveling through the Van Allen Belts also need to be protected from the radiation."

Or was your frown a reaction to my comment that the quote above does NOT say, "Astronauts can't travel through the Van Allen Belts because they are a solid barrier."?

Well, I have read through the five "reasons" in the testingtheglobe.com list. I find that they are not completely true. For instance, belief in a spherical earth does not "destroy the very foundation of the bible, Genesis, specifically the creation account." I have never seen anybody from Answers in Genesis, the Institute for Creation Research, or any of the other well-known Creation organisations suggest that the earth is a flat disc. Yet they all hold firmly to the truth of God's Word. Of course, there are scientists who believe in what the call "Intelligent Design" but deny the Designer, and some scientists who don't believe in Creation at all, but there are scientists who fully believe in Creation, and the truth of God's Word from Genesis to Revelation, yet do not believe that the earth is flat.

Thanks. In case that is so, all was doing was answering her question about the Van Allen belts. I said that the belts are not solid barriers, but do provide problems for astronauts because of their radiation. I quoted a description of how the belts affect astronauts, then commented that the description did NOT say that the belts were solid, and prevented rockets travelling through them. Thanks again.

But why did Jesus call Peter Satan?:

“And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. He spoke this word openly. And Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, "Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."” (Mr 8:31-33 NKJV)

Peter had rebuked Jesus for saying that He must suffer and be killed and rise again. Rather more important than belief about the shape of the world!

Jesus was addressing what Peter said; the suggestion that Jesus could bypass the cross was from Satan. Peter said it because he didn't want his friend, and teacher, to die - just as if a good friend said to you "I'll be dead soon", I'm sure you'd contradict them.
Jesus was not saying that Peter, himself, was Satan; otherwise why would he have restored him after the resurrection?

It had nothing at all to do with the shape of the earth.

Sorry if I gave you the impression that you said Peter being called satan was about the shape of the earth. I know you didn't say that. All I meant was that Peter rebuking Jesus and trying to stop Him doing the work He had come to do, which involved His death and resurrection, was far more serious than having a mistaken idea about the shape of the earth.

But he wasn't saying that the Van Allen belts are a solid barrier. I came across this verbal description of his video:

"This video released by NASA about the upcoming Orion space exploration craft shows a NASA scientist admitting that they still haven't worked out how to properly shield the spacecraft from the radiation emitted by the Van Allen Belts."

So he's not saying that the belts are a solid barrier preventing rockets from going through them, but that the technology with the spacecraft, and astronauts in manned space flights, need to be protected from the radiation of the belts.
