• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Just wanted to let you all know I have never tried to quit smoking. I've been smoking for about 17 yrs. Due to some recent health problems I kind of got a wake up call. I've been a believer for about 12 yrs. I guess I never had a desire to quit. I am praying for grace, peace, and vision. I kinda feel stuck with this step I'm taking. Looking for some support and encouragement.

Hey Todd, I hope all is going well with quit and you can see how your body is better for it. I know it is a long road to recovery and it will take a lot of paitence for both you and those around you. Hang in there. It can be done. And remember if at first you don't succeed try and try again. I can't tell you how many times I tried to quit before I was successful. I was a cold turkey kind of person so it took a long time to do it. I know there are more quit helpers out there now but find the way you want to go. You can ask a doctor, pharmacist or others who successfully quit. Make sure that you show yourself support and grace along the journey.
Blessings

I also quit using an e-cig. Tried cold turkey once before. Made it to month three before giving into cravings. A few months later I tried the e-cig and quit cigarettes cold turkey. I've been quit for over a year and a half now :)
