  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, thank you to those who offered me guidance, but to be honest, after reading descriptions of my "top 3" denominations, I don't really fit in to any of those either. I put a little more research into it (at beliefnet actually) and I seem to fit more into a liberal quaker "label", except I'm not a pacifist. Hmmm, just because a quiz says one thing, doesn't mean it's true. :)

Or just Luther's commentary on Romans

You know Lotar what I find so amazing about the Lutheran beliefs is that they are so similiar to mine. Now why is that amazing you ask. :D Well, I have had absolutely no teaching in doctrine or theology. I did not go to church when I was growing up. All I know about God is what I have personally learned from reading the bible and being led by the Holy Spirit.

Reading Galations and Romans over and over was particularly helpful to me even without a commentary. ;)

I knew I had a twin out there somewhere!

I would be happy to band together with you Good4u!!

How about Radicals for Jesus as our title????
Alas, I think I already have "radical" in my title!!:D

And most bible-believing Christians already have titles that are well, not always flattering. But love, Christian love, will find a way!!!;)

My first post ever! Please be kind.
Fun survey . . here are my results:

1: Church of Christ
#2: Evangelical Lutheran Church
#3: Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod
#4: Mennonite Brethren
#5: Southern Baptist
#6: Assemblies of God
#7: Free Will Baptist
#8: International Church of Christ
#9: Orthodox Quakerism
#10: Presbyterian Church USA

Now, I was raised in the Presbyterian (USA) Church, but now attend a non-denominational Bible-based Church. I don't know much about the Church of Christ. Anyone have any insight?
