Finally finished some upgrades

Oh boy, what a horrid few days.. I needed to do some upgrades to my system, and of course being the impatient, impulsive person that I am, I had lots of difficulties.

I ended up putting in a Radeon 9700 Pro, an LG 52x24x52x rewriter, an ATA100 controller and a Sound Blaster Audigy 2.

I also picked up some games.

Command and Conquer Generals
Serious Sam - The Second Encounter
Battlefield 1942
Unreal Tournament 2003
Delta Force Black Hawk Down
Soldier of Fortune 2 - Double Helix
Hitman 2 Silent Assassin

The last 2 came with my sound card.

Problem is, everytime I touched something, something else broke. I pulled the machine out probably 50 times because something wouldn't work. I was not a happy camper. My video camera refused to admit it even existed at one point. Same with my sound card, with no reason it seemed.

However, all is well, my machine is running again, all my software is installed and I can go back to my gaming. Yay me. lol

I say go back to the good old games to fix the probs - TAnnihilation, for instance, Total Annihilation, TotalA and did I mention T:A? Anyway, congrats on your bugfixing and upgrades, I like the sound of the Radeon!

interestingly enough...

the audigy2 driver from creative is written incorrectly and will prevent a third party app from running prior to boot. i'm not sure what they did but i think they have made the driver start at Boot instead of System.
