That doesn’t even make any sense. If the charges his son faced were false, he could have just taken them to court without any problem. The problem wasn’t that the charges were false, it was that they were very real, and his vile son faced jail time, as did he himself.

Flynn and his son are alleged to have had meetings with Turkey about illegally renditioning a Turkish dissident back to Turkey for a payment of $15m. The dissident would certainly have been killed by the Turskish regime. These are not nice innocent people.

This is pure fantasy. Flynn lied to the FBI and to his WH bosses, nobody is saying that he isn’t. The whole claim is that nobody should have bothered him about his foreign contacts, so he wouldn’t have had to lie.

The agents did not think according to their written reports that Flynn had lied to them. Flynn was never told that he was a target of an investigation or advised of his rights, in fact he was told he did not need to have an attorney for the interview. That’s what selective reporting leads to - selective opinions. Flynn was convicted of lying because that is what he did, and not just to the FBI, however you try to dress it up. Charges were not dropped, the judge was asked to treat Flynn’s lies as ‘not material’.
