What are you talking about? The file on Macron was only one of many documents that were taken. Have you read the list?

And this, as far as we know, isn’t about a nuclear threat. That’s a strawman.
The only list I've seen is one that describes the classification of the documents. Is there a list of the actual contents that I missed?

You and
It's going to fit into the witch hunt category. It's going to look like a purely desperate "Hail Mary pass" political move with the midterms being a couple of months away. I know that's how I'm going to see it.
You and the small minority of Americans who are so far gone you still believe Trump’s insane lies. He’s lost a tremendous amount of support and continues to (he lost a few more just yesterday with his manic social media posts).

You’re hanging on to a sinking ship. You’re defending someone the rest of the world recognizes as a mentally ill, criminal cult leader. Do you really want to keep holding on?

What we know was provided in the link in Post #10.

Found a nice explainer from DOE. Slide 21

What is Formerly Restricted Data?

Information classified under the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 that has been removed from the RD category and placed in the FRD category after DOE and the Department of Defense have jointly determined that it:

relates primarily to the military
utilization of atomic weapons
and

can be adequately safeguarded
in a manner similar to National
Security Information.*

*FRD is not automatically declassified, is treated as RD in foreign transmission, and requires special markings

Don't misunderstand the term
"Formerly" to mean that the
information is no longer classified.

IT IS STILL CLASSIFIED.

Slide 22 is also very relevant giving generic examples of FRD material.

You do realize that this is taking out the candidate that Democrats have the best chance of defeating in 2024 don't you?

That really make it sound like the whole case is about crimes committed rather than to take out the GOP's strongest candidate.

I don't think he has a chance in a general election. Taking him out of contention would be the best thing that could happen for Republicans.

I don’t understand what the problem with this is. Doing things just for raw political power should be beneath the dignity of any public official. I sincerely question the moral fiber of anyone who would hesitate to charge Trump because it might be bad for them politically. Not charging him because of lack of evidence of Trump committing crimes is completely reasonable, but to refuse to charge him because of the politics is an affront to the rule of law.

Or their zeal to get anything on Trump has clouded their judgement. Either way I think he may be indicted but a conviction is less likely.

Who exactly are the "they" with clouded judgement from their zeal?

This case is driven by the National Archives looking for missing documents that they should have. NARA wasn't involved the previous 5+ years of investigations into Trump, were they?

No but the FBI were. If they have something solid this time more power to them.

Its not just "a word". Its a claim of illegal and immoral activity. Its a smear.
And it's in the title of this thread, so one would think, that's what this thread is about.

If I understand it correctly, the FBI's case has to do with obstruction which would seem to be a pattern with Mr. Trump.

That and the document retention/mishandling issues.

Though, interestingly enough, the obstruction part seems to be where the DOJ has been laying out evidence of *others* being culpable, specifically Trump's attorneys Bobb and Corcoran who indicated that there was no more sensitive/classified information at Mar-a-Lago after conduction a search in response to Grand Jury subpoena. It would not surprise me in the least if the first charges related to this issued by the grand jury are obstruction charges for those attorneys. But, we don't know what will happen.

I'm glad you mentioned that. Do you think Trump actually packed up and moved these documents himself?

Well if you did that on purpose it would be malicious intent. Is that what the OP is being accused of?
If I said it and didn't correct my mistake when was pointed out, how do you think John is going to feel?

That's a bunch of hogwash. Not everyone is partisan and polarized. You've been programed to believe that anyone who doesn't go along with how the democrats operate and what liberal media spouts must belong to the "MAGA cult". I hardly listen to or read anything Trump says. He's just an ex-president as far as I'm concerned. And if he decides to run for the 2024 presidency, he'll just be another candidate out of several contenders.

That said, I think the democrats are obsessed with trying to indict Trump over anything they can come up with and the clock is running out on them, if the republicans end up sweeping the house and senate. And it seems to me they're going out of their way to facilitate that. The Jan 6th plus documents routine had better produce some results by November, or it's just going to be a continuation of a six year long fail circus, and they're probably going to lose a lot of votes over it. Along with the horrible condition the country is in right now.
