Fellowship Far from the madding cessationists

Speaking of praying, I'm very troubled and ask all of you to be praying. I've been made aware on 2 different forums of two women with young children who have been suicidal. Also, there's a new sister in Christ on this forum who has been begging for prayer because she's terrified she may have cancer and is currently going through testing for it. She has some prayer requests posted on the prayer wall under the name J14M. Please, pray for these women in great need.

Also, I've been posting in other threads on this forum and witnessing to some atheists and a Buddhist. The devil really doesn't like that! Please pray for them and for me as God leads me to show them the love of Christ! They need Him so much!

I have come to the conclusion that there are groups and individuals whose mission is to disrupt good Christian forums, especially the Charismatic ones. They usually come in under the Cessationist banner and no matter how intelligently and loving others are in their replies and discussions, they viciously attack the persons instead of dealing with the issues. They are not interested in finding the truth, but rather to destroy threads and ridicule those who are genuine, Spirit-filled believers. These are the ones who repeatedly invade threads with the same objections, attacks and arguments, time after time. According to Galatians 5, "contention" is an act of the flesh and those who engage in habitual contention are not truly converted and will not inherit the kingdom of God.

I am not referring to all Cessationists, many of whom are godly, sincere believers who feel that the supernatural signs and wonders are not their cup of tea, and they sincerely believe that the gifts have ceased. These ones will engage in reasonable discussion and will always play the ball and not the player. These are also the ones who have been put off the gifts because of the bizarre antics of some Pentecostals and Charismatics who are misusing the gifts, probably through immaturity and inexperience. These Cessationists would always be welcome to discuss their views on any thread.

But the ungodly ones who attack good believers are not true Cessationists. They are trolls - the representatives of the devil whose mission is to harass and disrupt the fellowship and ministry of good believers. They not only attack those who believe in the gifts, but also can be false evolutionists who troll threads that discussion creation and evolution, not to engage in reasonable discussion to explore different views and to learn something, but to destroy the thread through ungodly and fleshly contention.

We need to be careful that we don't get drawn into these contentions which are just time wasters and distract the good folks from fellowship and ministry on these forums and threads.

I discovered "strong tongues" which is excellent for spiritual warfare. I first saw it in my old pastor - when he spoke in a particular tongue it made the hairs on the back of neck go up. It was a "put hairs on your chest" tongue, quite different from his ordinary praise and worship tongue. It was using that tongue that demons seemed to flee when he cast them out. I tried to copy it when I was younger, but it didn't work for me - because I was copying it. Never works when you copy someone else's gift.

But in later years I found that it started to happen to me where the language changed and it flowed out of me instead of me trying to make it happen. It has usually happened when I have been interceding, and I knew when the victory came because there was a release of joy and my tongue went back to normal.

Paul talks about tongues of men and angels. I mentioned this on the other thread and got well and truly attacked by the cessationists for heresy.
However, in spiritual warfare or deliverance, we are confronting demons, so given that demons are fallen angels, it makes sense that we have tongues of angels!
In no way am I saying we can't do deliverance without such tongues, but its extremely useful when discernment isn't revealing what's hiding in there.

Literally it says. There are different "breeds" (species) of tongues.

My friends testimony allows for the widening of many peoples thinking in regard to the attribute or ability from the holy spirit to
"Interpret tongues" ..
My mind too needed renewing on that topic.
Being that i always thought (was taught) it was all about tongues as spoken in a congaeration setting.
And is so not just that.
