-it's said that the reversal falls heavily on poor people who will now have children they can ill avoid to have & families will fall deeper into poverty
please don't say well they should know better/not have more kids cause it doesn't work that way

I think adoption should be promoted & heavily promoted for such families
we had a local Pastor who promoted adoption & one hundred families from the church stepped up to adopt

the problem is SO many Christians wanted roe vs wade overturned yet these same Christians NEVER step up
only 5% of Christians have adopted children

come on Christians step up and act
look into adopting a child!

Exactly. People, especially Christians, should step up and adopt and should certainly help financially as you're right, a large portion of those having abortions are people that can't afford to raise the child they'll be legally required to have now in many states.

Relying on charity also doesn't cut it. Charity alone has never been sufficient in modern times. If this was good enough to legislate, so is increasing taxation and expanding social security for the millions of children we can expect over the years as a result.

The term 'pro-birth' has been used jokingly in response to pro-life folks as the sentiment is that once they're born they're on their own, so let's hope that changes.

Why would it?

People who can't afford to take care of a child or another one shouldn't have them.
All of these "aid" programs cause more problems. They are supposed to be temporary and short-term but certain "people" have learned how to ride them for upwards of 10 years.
B/c of evil and ignorant people there is a high rate of unplanned pregnancies and people who simply "dump" them.
Adopting is costly and time consuming and there's still no guarantee. The system in this is broken.
God isn't some genie one can conjure b/c one "thinks" about adopting. The problem is the source of so many unwed people having unplanned children.

Did you get that from the Barna poll in 2013? That is where I am seeing the 5 percent number.

5 Things You Need to Know About Adoption - Barna Group

While Christians have built a reputation for many of the things they are against, adoption and foster care are emerging as a cause they are for. While only 2% of all Americans have adopted, this rises to 5% among practicing Christians. Practicing Christians are much more likely than others to have seriously considered adoption—38% of practicing Christians say they have, compared to 26% of all adults.

More than merely promoting adoption we should be trying to revive older standards of sexual conduct. Preferably ones wherein men and women feel some amount of shame and stigma for having children and sexual encounters outside of marriage.

Regardless, people tend to adopt children who look most like them.
White people with white children. Black people with black children and so on.
Awesome white people adopt the most with Hispanic and Black as the top three in that order.
Of course, there are other factors but to assume "Christians MUST" even if they can't provide for them is absurd.

Christians shouldn't be chided to resolve poor decisions that are preventable. We should be encouraging responsibility and temperance. If you don't want a child that's an easy fix. It's up to the parties involved to choose it.

Adopting is costly and time consuming and there's still no guarantee.

adoption is a great way to build a family
one changes the life of a child forever

there are no guarantees with pregnancy, either
relative lost a baby in utero that was 6 mos growing

our adoption did cost but we got most of the money back with the adoption tax CREDIT
the wait was long to adopt but our child was SO worth the wait!

So where did the several adoption groups get the statistic?

same statistic from another source:

Who Adopts the Most?

"Christians. According to EthicsDaily.com, 5 percent of practicing Christians in the United States have adopted, which is more than twice the number of all adults who have adopted"

Thanks, if you follow their link it refers back to Barna's research. I am guessing the other does as well as it references the 38 percent who consider it. But they do not list a source.

in any case, the families who adopt children are in the minority

in elementary school, I knew one set of siblings that were adopted & where we live now, one neighbor told me her youngest was adopted

not until we adopted & attended adoption group get togethers did we meet more families who have adopted

our teen has been doing online adoption classes & recently made 2 friends...I'm happy they are "zooming"

So what should we do with all of these children that people can’t afford?

That’s our vital supply of domestic infants the justice was concerned about maintaining.
