  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Here is my thought on the born again child of God and a person who remained an unbeliever their whole life.

All people (before becoming a born again child of God) are body soul and spirit, but the spirit is dead and when a person believes in Jesus. God make the believers spirit permanently alive, at the very moment of faith. Changing it from death (a dead spirit) to life by the filling or changing of our dead spirit with the Holy Spirit (The Life of God).

Your theology still doesn’t line up with the scriptures because James said that if a person falls away their soul is in danger of death. Jesus said that the destruction of the soul takes place in hell. Salvation is being saved from the wrath of God that takes place in hell. Only the condemned are sent to hell.

No the verse does not state the soul will be destroyed in Hell but states fear God who is able to destroy the soul in hell.

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell

A born again child of God will never be in danger of hell. They are a permanent member of the family of God, no matter how they lived their earthly life.
Well I think I’ve successfully accomplished my goal here which was to give you the opportunity to show everyone how far you’re willing to twist the word of God for the sake of preserving your precious doctrine. Anyone who is willing to accept your interpretation of these scriptures is just as lost as you are and are simply not willing to hear the gospel.

Nah, that's why we have Purgatory.
Even the Roman Catholic Church doesn’t teach the destruction of a saved person’s soul in hell. Hell is reserved for the condemned, not those who are saved.

The destruction of the soul takes place in hell. So now you’re saying that saved people will burn in hell?
Punishment of the soul takes place in hell. If you are saved you go to Heaven.

Yes but there’s no temporary punishment in hell. Those who are saved never set foot in hell.

We are born again through the Sacrament of Baptism. God saves us through Baptims and continues to save us.
“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.”

There are no accounts in The Bible of a name being removed.

Unless you take the verse as empty words.

Revelation 22:19 (KJV)
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

The verse state God will take away his part, nothing about taking away his name. The taking away of his part, could be any eternal rewards the born again child of God has

The book of Life is about our names/IDs on it. Taking away our part can thus be taken as taking away our names, unless you'd go semantic.

Not for me, the text never states, taking away a name. So that maybe the way you see it, but i do not.
