The repentance will come to some quickly, some longer, some not at all, you have to remember this is all GOD's work not ours and HE calls, who he calls. It's all about making them aware of the sins against GOD, to open up their conscience only then, when they realize what they have done will repentance come about.
Sorry, don't fully grasp what you mean, chosen. The elect are people who are called chosen and faithful, we are told. We are also told many are called but few are chosen. So some will not make it past being called.Well if he calls people they are not seeking him out, they are chosen.
Faith is a gift of God. We get faith by the Holy Ghost making alive our dead and depraved heart. The Holy Ghost operates through the foolishness of preaching, through scripture and through the sharing of faith by believers. The Bible says unless a person believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour they are separated from God.
How exactly does this faith in Christ come about, from scripture. "Soul winners" will knock on people's door or go out street preaching the message "believe in Jesus" and I agree faith is needed. The question is: How do we do that? Specifically how can a lost person get faith in Jesus?

Any way they can.The Bible says unless a person believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour they are separated from God.

GOD calls people first. Some except the call others do not so, only those who except the call and move forward in faith and acceptance of GOD's promises will be chosen.Faith, salvation.
Does God choose you or is it a partnership?
Faith and belief are used interchangeably. However, the New Testament does recognize that people can have false faith or incomplete belief, which is inadequate. The difference is not between the two words but between the concepts of intellectual belief/knowledge that God is the creator ... followed by a wholehearted commitment. Faith is a gift from God. Our faith is increased the more we study His Word and spend time with Him.
One asks the Lord to forgive them and asks Him to come into their life ... then study His Word (or vice versa) and learn all about Him .... faith increases as one's knowledge about Him increases.
It's a choice. I know that sounds too simple but biblically that's what faith is. A choice to believe. The Bible says unless a person believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour they are separated from God.

Faith is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8) that is given through the efficacious Means of Grace: Word and Sacrament (Romans 10:17).

Okay let me try and simplify faith. Everyday in your life you put you faith into things and people. In other words you trust their word to you, like a doctor, you put trust in your brakes on the car etc. Well when you read the word of GOD their are things in their that prove GOD is who HE says HE is. Once you accept that you put all your faith in GOD and HIS word.Ok but even if they want to accept the call how do they get faith. We have the Bible, can't we find the details there?
Two points in regard to that scripture.
1) If you believe that a person must hear the gospel to be saved, what happens to unborn people that die in the womb?
2) I interpret Romans 10:18 to mean all people have heard Gods word by his creation so the gospel is not necessary in every single case of salvation, only the saving grace of God is. If you disagree with scripture interpretation, what is your counterargument?

JJ I read through your post and I see nowhere in any of that scripture or even close that it gives instructions to or for a non-believer to get faith in Christ. Being an evangelist and giving the lost a Commandment to have faith in Christ without details how to do it is worthless.
