  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Your off to a poor start, and you must know why.

Why do you continue to insist that abiogenesis has anything to do with evolution, when it has been explained to you countless times, that it doesn't matter how life started; evolution only deals with how life changes once it is already here?
If you say so. But without life there is no evolution.......

So it's origins is of the utmost importance to evolution......

Dodge and run, run and doge.....

Not afraid of that wall are you?????

I'm not running from anything. YOU are the one dodging the issue by bringing up an irrelevant topic, as has been explained to you.

Of course life has to exist first. So What? What does it have to do with how it changes once it's here?

For arguments sake, let's suppose an atheist admits that abiogenesis cant happen naturally. Some supernatural event had to create the first replicating molecule considered life.

Now What?

How does that change the explanation for how life progresses from there?

Nonsense.

If we say that AV1611vet travelled through time to make the first life in Earth's ancient oceans that wouldn't effect the evidence for the evolution of life over the eons.

I saw somewhere that just the “thought-to-be” or “possibly” ape to Hominid transitional fossils could be put in a shoe box and there’d still be room for the shoes. I don’t have a clue how accurate (if at all) that statement is, . . .
That is so monstrously incorrect it is evident you have made essentially no effort to make a study of the research on human evolution. I wonder at your arrogance in coming here and expressing views on the matter when you can't even be bothered to check out a few basic facts. Unbelievable! Since you base your opinions on ignorance it is not surprising they are so abyssmally wrong. The only thing you have correct is contained in the last sentence: you don't have a clue.

How do you think life progresses?????

Finches become finches, bacteria become bacteria, fruit flies become fruit flies.....

Ahhh, now you suddenly want to discuss imagination and things never once observed and call it scientific???? I thought that was religion according to you all????

So...giving up on the abiogenesis argument then?

Good choice.

I don’t have a clue how accurate (if at all) that statement is, but if that’s anywhere close to actuality after all the research & study that has been done... well, where does the refusal of the truth rest? It looks like there are many branches of apes that “appear” to have been progressing toward hominids, but apparently no actual bridge (in the form of fossil remains – evidence) between the two (showing a direct route) has been found. Except for all the connecting the dots, it’s as though man just appeared... like the Bible says.

Well let's find out by facts instead of claims......

List of human evolution fossils - Wikipedia

A bit more than a shoebox, but as you can see the vast majority are just a bone fragment here and there.

Really evolutionary paleontologists should become detectives as there would not be a single unsolved crime with their deductive powers.

Not at all, but you insist it isn't important because it kills your theory, so I'll ask again which you avoided answering....

The last time that was true was 1855.

Fossils are neat because their visual and tangible, but because of genetics we don't need a single fossils in order to recreate the history of life on earth.

Then quit changing the subject, and please explain to me how abiogenesis kills the theory of evolution.

You want to see how irrelevant it is? Ok, for the sake of this argument, I will concede that abiogenesis had to be performed by a supernatural being.

How does that effect evolution?

Then all things were created fully formed from the start.... But your real problem is starting...... Water is a universal solvent. RNA, DNA, peptides, sugars, amino acids, all the building blocks of life dissolve in water, not form..... So even giving yourself a creator to start the first building blocks of life does not help you at all.....

And finches becoming finches, bacteria becoming bacteria and fruit flies becoming fruit flies in no way implies evolution....

Amen!

And think about it.

Water is H2O.

Strike a match in pure H and you get the Hindenburg Effect.

Strike a match in pure O and you get the Apollo 1 effect.

But combine the two, and water will put it out.

Now tell me this universe wasn't designed!

Why? Is your god not capable of creating a world in which he kicks off single cell life, and gives it a mechanism to change from there?

But your real problem is starting...... Water is a universal solvent. RNA, DNA, peptides, sugars, amino acids, all the building blocks of life dissolve in water, not form..... So even giving yourself a creator to start the first building blocks of life does not help you at all.....

Why are you still talking about the impossibility of abiogenesis? I already conceded that point for the sake of the argument.

So again...please explain to me why a supernatural event that creates life (not the building blocks of life, but life) creates a brick wall for evolution.

Assuming, for the sake of argument, that god created first life...what does that fact have to do with what happens to that life subsequently?

I'm going to predict that you don't get a germane or even cogent response to that question.

A flat lie.

Fossils are the evidence of Earths past. Not genetics.

Why do you state a lie and have things backwards.

Could it be that

1) the fossil record shows evolution did not happen

2) you now try to overpromote genetics to prove evolution, since the fossil record failed

3) what you do not present is genetics is open to interpretation of the way the Creator continues to produces Kinds verses you state only evolution interpretation.

As mentioned, evolution in 2018 has hit a brickwall, and evolution's conjecture and belief base is now well understood.

He got one, he just wants to keep changing the goal posts.....

Notice his original challenge: "
For arguments sake, let's suppose an atheist admits that abiogenesis cant happen naturally. Some supernatural event had to create the first replicating molecule considered life."

So he got his answer:

"Water is a universal solvent. RNA, DNA, peptides, sugars, amino acids, all the building blocks of life dissolve in water, not form..... So even giving yourself a creator to start the first building blocks of life does not help you at all....."

{or the first replicating molecule}

.....then dodges by changing the goalposts.....

Such are evolutionists......
