...the Current geological models of plate tectonics and geology.
Meaning they are replaceable by the ones that follow.
Do you reject the chemical theory of atoms, just because it's the current theory?

I had no idea you were that old.
That's the great thing about evidence: you don't have to have been there to know what happened.

You're not speaking for everyone.
No, just the scientific community (y'know, those people who devote their lives to being experts on this sort of thing). Oh, and a large chunk of the rest of the world.

Cool!

So how did we get our moon?
Giant impact ~4.53 billion years ago.

Obviously, you don't believe this, because you believe the Earth to have been poofed into existence ~6000 years ago (4004BCE, I believe), along with the Sun, Moon, etc.

Perhaps, they will certainly be refined but they will not be replaced by long falsified hypothesis about a global flood anymore than Phlogiston will stage a comeback as an explanation for combustion.

History of the Collapse of Flood Geology and a Young Earth

The global flood has been falsified by geology, paleontology, biogeography, biodiversity, archeology and every other applicable branch of science.

We have been discussing these falsifications on this board for several years now.

Ya -- let me guess how you guys do it.

Step One: Assume God doesn't exist.

There are [at least] three other theories that disagree with that.
Indeed. But the Giant Impact Hypothesis is supported by the most evidence, and the largest chunk of scientists. There are always alternative hypotheses.

Science is myopic.
Everyone is myopic, in that sense. Science is the best way we have of ascertaining past events.

So was Thalidomide.
There are always alternative hypotheses.
Then don't tell me it's based on 'observation' and expect me to buy it.

You can ascertain all you want, but when you cross paths with the Bible, your 'ascertain' goes out the door -- with hiking boots.

No, the people who originally falsified the flood assumed God existed and the flood had been global. They were scientists. They found they were wrong about the earth's geology being a result of the global flood and changed their minds about the flood but not about the existence of God as far as I know.

Do you think these guys are assuming that God doesn't exist?

Fair enough -- they're not literalists then?
If you mean the early geologists who first falsified the flood I think many of them were. If you mean the Affiliation of Christian Geologists i think many of them are not strict literalists but I think these old earth creationists consider themsevles literalists.

In that case then, the tares have indeed started choking out the wheat, haven't they?

We must be in the end-times, eh?

1Ti 4:1 ¶ Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

According to guys like you the end times have been coming any day for nearly 2,000 years now so I am not really too worried about it.

I'm not either, but I'm not going to just lay down and let the tares grow in my house, either.

A few years back I watched a Penn and Teller show debunking UFO conspiracy theorists. At one point they went to a convention with lots of people peddling their theories. What was really fascinating was that while all these theories contradicted each other, none of the people seemed to even notice. So long as they re-enforced the belief that aliens existed, they were fine.

Likewise, I've noticed that really dedicated creationists don't mind if other creationists hold a theory that contradicts theirs. All that matters is that they re-enforce the general creationist belief.

You might well be thinking of the Evolution-Church side of the argument.
Perhaps one day Penn & Teller will recheck their stand.........naaaa.

The exact mechanisms of HOW evolution works, well, that's very much something we don't have all the answers to.

the mechanisms of how evolution works – that are still somewhat in question,

...they talk about the controversies within the scientific community over the means and mechanisms of how evolution works, but do not question the fact

The theory of evolution deals with the mechanisms of how evolution works, NOT WHETHER IT EXISTS.

The rest, who are qualified, mostly have issue with the specific mechanisms of how evolution works, not whether it works

Evolution's mutation mechanism does not explain how growth of a genome is possible. How can point mutations create new chromosomes or lengthen a strand of DNA?

According to God it already happened and you will still be there to see it no matter when it happens.
Your current state of mind is not an issue.

Actually, it wasn't.
Actually, it was.

Every nation but the United States embraced it.

It's only in retrospect that you guys want to claim there was not enough evidence?

Indeed. There was absolutely no evidence that Thalidomide would cause foetal deformations, or indeed that any drug given to a pregnant woman could affect the foetus. The benefits of the drug are real, it is a wonder drug.
