Another aspect of the "old earth" belief is the population problem, and believe me population is a severe problem for evolutionists. A study was done where scientists computed population growth. They used the formula of 2% growth rate and every 85 years the population would be cut in half worldwide to make up for wars famines and plagues. This formula of 2% is extremely conservative, in fact is there were any less growth it would not be growth because it takes 2% for any growth at all, any less would mean negative growth. Anyway, these scientists used this formula and computed back 5000 years and the numbers are simply amazing. In 5000 years with 2% growth rate and the population cut in half every 85 year, the population of this planet would be around 5.5-6 billion people, which is consistent with today. NOW lets take these numbers back 41,000 years. Take a guess at what the population would be after 41,000 years? Our screwball science says that man has been on this planet for, some say as long as 2 million years. . .EHEM! In 41,000 years, which is a drop in the bucket compared to 2 million years, the population would be 2 times 10 to the 89th power, or this number here, 2,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000! Even though this planet is capable of sustaining a population upwards of 30 billion, IF WE ALL LIVED FOR EACH OTHER INSTEAD OF OUR GREEDY POCKET BOOK, after 41,000 years man would be stacked up to the moon on top of bodies and bones. Just imagine after 2,000,000 years man would be stacked up on top of each other to the end of the milky way galaxy! So to think the earth is much older than 6000 years is quite outlandish.
