  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Evolution is proven false!

???

It was a granted premise!

I thought that would be quite clear from the following question

...which were:

Now give us your evidence for either a creator or intelligent designer please

a) Asking for evidence of a creator -- would require multiple threads to address.
b) Asking for evidence of an intelligent designer -- ditto.

Perhaps if you had asked for the data which support CREATIONISM, or INTELLIGENT DESIGN -- also two separate threads, as the proponents of each group have very different ideas.

If you wanted evidence for a CREATOR GOD, then you'd need to specify which one/ones, and the same for an INTELLIGENT DESIGNER GOD.

The evidence for a Creator God (and by this I mean the Biblical God) -- is primarily the Kalam Cosmological Argument. This you can Google and present your counter argumentS etc. etc. etc. etc.

It's only St. Augustine's musing in the Confessions, and is not supported by the Scriptures. ^_^

The alternative is that God didn't see the Fall coming... and what does that make God?

Oh, and b.t.w. the arguments for a Creator God (Cosmological) are not evidence in the sense of a scientific theory of Evolution, but merely a reasonable defense of the proposition that God exists therefore. etc. I like to think that Dr. W Lane-Craig and perhaps Prof. Alvin Plantinga have some pretty tough arguments to overturn -- Peter Kreeft does a pretty good job of explaining stuff too. So, let's see you (Sofaman) have a go at the Kalam -- and come back and debunk it for us. (Others here might come to your aid, but I think it's your challenge and you should rise to the occasion or put a sock in it) -- i.e. Loudmouth, who can't resist living up to his alias.

Is that the only alternative? ^_^

Actually, yes.

God creates a perfect world. Perfect world goes down the tubes.

Either God knew it was going to happen or He didn't; not a lot of middle ground here.

I'll go with the old 'saint' on this one: "And I confess to thee, O Lord, that I am still ignorant as to what time is."

I'm currently studying Genesis, in the light of the whole Bible -- with particular focus on the doctrine of God -- So, when I get to the gardens (there are quite a few in the old dusty book) -- I'll be sure to give your reflection a bit of meditation.

 < b.t.w. I've heard this one before, and didn't think it was that smart when I did, but then I'm not that smart either.

So where is the known Cosmos getting it's energy from....exactly?

I have no idea and neither do you.

And it's not relevant to the point being made either.

You tried to pretend that "natural life" is "impossible" because of entropy. I merely pointed out that entropy in that sense is irrelevant to our situation on this planet, because we get new workable energy from the sun every day, all day.

I'm not interested in how tan you are getting today.

Are you saying that you do not understand the importance of the sun to life on this planet?

I'm interested in where the billions of watts per second came from.

Me too. I'm just not childish about it.

Assume for a moment it came from something/someone else -- where did that energy come from?

I Robot,
Hologram of Dr. Lanning: That, Detective, is the "right question."

That energy came from a source that is outside of our natural laws.
Our natural laws state that energy cannot be created or destroyed.
So this must have come from a non-natural source.

Another universe that plays by different rules perhaps.
The possibilities are endless.
But the laws definitely rule out our natural space.

I'm well aware of the Kalamity Cosmological Argument which is simply an elaborate method of special pleading.

It is very obtuse to those who can't grasp the answer that
the source is not in the bounds of scientific examination
because it is not natural.

The plead is not intended to point to God.
It's intended to rule out a natural explanation
for which science fictioneers claim exists
for everything.

Did I read something about how things balance out and the net energy of the universe is zero or something?

It is proposed that was the original state
but reasons for why anti-matter lost the battle
remain elusive.

So we got stuck with a cosmos that has very
little anti-matter around.

Some non-matter, non-energy source outside of physical space
must have produced it outside of the reality system we live under.

It is very obtuse to those who can't grasp the answer that the source is not in the bounds of scientific examination because it is not natural.

How did you determine that this source (which is unkown) was not natural?

How can you draw such a conclusion about something that isn't known?

The plead is not intended to point to God.

Then why do so many apologists use it to do exactly that?

It's intended to rule out a natural explanation for which science fictioneers claim exists for everything.

So, it's intended to stop questioning?
Yep, sounds about right.

Which was exactly the effect it had when al-gezhali first introduced it during Islam's golden age, when it was the epicenter of learning and progress.

Not long after his ideas resonated throughout that society, the entire culture plummethed into a dark age. They are still in it.

Ok, let's assume you're correct -- if this source is outside of physical space, then what space is it in?
