  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As they tell me....
What you don't understand,
is not an argument for anything.
Who told you that?

Did you really not understand what he said? It was fairly easy stuff, and a very powerful point. If there were no such thing as fossils, you could prove evolution on genetic evidence alone.

I grew up on a farm. We raised cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, and more.
There were sixteen dams on the property. I mention this because the environment in which I grew up supported a great variety of wildlife including many species of birds and ducks.
.
I am always amazed when evolutionary scientists make a big deal about the sense and intelligence of some animal. For example, how it is that a monkey in Japan during winter can have the sense to get into a hot spring to help keep itself warm.
.
Every individual cow, pig, sheep, or chicken that I have ever known, knows to get in the shade when its hot, to go in the sunshine when its cold, to eat when its hungry, to stop eating when its full. All common sense.
.
Evolutionists cannot know how they can do these things except that they inherited it from a common ancestor who first had the sense to move to the shade, etc.
.
God not only made humans, he made the animals, and gave all of them common sense. We only need to use ours.

I don't understand the question, that proves you are wrong to ask.
ridiculous. I don't think you even believe it. I think you are being deliberately insulting.

There is nothing about Evolution that touches upon the existence of God. It simply would never come up. Science explores God's world. Science cannot explore God and whether or not he exists.
Which do you trust the most, perceived fact or perceived faith?

Perception is tricky. We'd like to trust it, but it can fool us sometimes. Perception that is shared by all others is trustworthy.

Faith is chosen. Hopefully it is not blind faith, but based on the probability that it is true.

Facts are things which the majority of evidence supports, and are believed until additional evidence comes along to overthow previous evidence.

Nothing is known for 100% sure.

I don't prefer anything in particular. I accept what I need at the time.

Honestly, I'm not even sure what you're going for here. Evolution is totally a thing that happened, and the idea that it isn't is a form of Christianity that (so far as its views on human development are concerned) deserves no respect).

Because perception is tricky, there are things that God would have us know. One of these is recorded in Psalm 118:8.
Psalm 118:8
It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in humans.

Evolution is a process we can test and is not religious
until we apply the concept to untestable past events.

Past events cannot be observed,
cannot be predicted or deduced
from physical evidence, and
cannot be tested experimentally.

How Jesus is related to the theory is a mystery to me.

3 Some Pharisees came to Jesus, testing Him and asking, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason at all?"
4 And He answered and said, "Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE,

How do you know? Do you really think he was going to go around trying to explain evolution without a developed science for people to understand?
He could if He wanted to.

After all, King Solomon evidentally studied evolution by having apes imported for study.

1 Kings 10:22 For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

And his conclusion was ...

Ecclesiastes 7:29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

(Notice here, where evolution is called an "invention" -- not a "discovery" as evolutionists would have us think?)

No. But in layman's shorthand, genetic evidence is sufficient to "prove" evolution. If you wish to be technically and semantically correct, "genetic evidence is sufficient to suggest and support evolution as the most accurate theory explaining biodiversity ".

Do you think I want to be correct?
Laymen will run the experiment themselves.
No experimental re-creation....then bunk.

Besides, you're not just saying that giants existed, but that DINOSAURS KILLED THEM OFF,

But people used to ride dinosaurs, I've seen the pictures from Ken Ham's "museum". Perhaps the Giants fell off when they were riding the Brontosaurus?

Actually, I think evolution explains exactly why those animals exhibit "common sense". Any animal that is unable to keep it's body temperature between certain limits will not survive long enough to reproduce.

My ancestors were also humans... and primates, and tetrapods, and chordates, and invertabrates, and pond scum, all the way back to the dust of the earth.

As I was saying, mine were humans, full stop. Sorry to hear about yours.
