You have no say in the matter, though saying please was a kind touch. "The majority of good Christians" is still the wide path. Only the folks who actually turn the whole of their existence over to God receive answers to prayer. Even knowing this, it's a difficult road to walk.

So people in my family simply aren't faithful enough because we lost family members despite their sincere prayers?

I'm just saying...loss and grief is hard enough on people when they don't have religious guilt hanging over them. But your theology of God's healing brings up too many implications that simply makes God look cruel.

But for you, whenever someone survives some terrible illness, God gets the credit. But God never gets the blame when people succumb to it.

Do you still call that micro-evolution? Most creationists I have shared this with say "Ah, but that is just lizards going through minor changes" or even better "That is not evidence of snake-evolution. That is just skinks going through minor changes" missing the point, which is that these minor changes are leading to some pretty major differences. The only reason we still call some of them lizards is because of the way we classify species.

It is one emergent new group of creatures that are taking the same evolutionary route as we think that ancient snakes did. Give them some time, and a niche that gets them resources, and we will have a new family of creatures - not snakes, but a new, modern group of creatures with snake-like features, because these happen to be effective.

That's a mouthful of accusations... but I don't see any facts to back any of it up. In reality, SETI funding is a very small portion of the scientific research budget of the country. The reason for it is that if we do find intelligent life outside of our planet, it would be the biggest scientific discovery of all time. We also have good reason to think there is intelligent life out there for us to find. Personally, I would like to see more funding for near earth impactors and research into diverting them, but that doesn't seem to be as "sexy" as funding for other projects. That said, I do not think SETI researchers deserve the scorn and slander you have just heaped on them.

We agree how it works here, but are you sure you agree with how it works all the way out in Jupiter's orbit?

So you say Jupiter is in our same state even though you've also insinuated that distant stars are not because you insist that we can't know if what we see are extrasolar planets when we find evidence of them or observe them directly. At what distance to the laws of physics change to your new state? And what evidence do you have of these different states again?

Or is the state only the same or different depending on what argument you're trying to make?

Also, it's not as simple as dropping an apple. It's more like a falling apple hitting the top-side of a moving semi truck at speed, which is travelling under a different tree, but the semi has an apple-attraction force. Had the comet just been placed a few thousand kilometers from Jupiter and then let go, then your analogy might be a more accurate representation.

Lastly, I actually was taking Astronomy 101 in college at the time the impact was happening. I got to see the comet breaking up and plummeting to Jupiter 1st hand through a telescope. Pretty cool stuff.

Oh... another prediction confirmed in science that is pretty much walking all over the dad-changing-state idea....

The delay in communication between Earth and Voyager 1 is exactly what's predicted according to our understanding of the speed of light. Voyager 1 has been and will be performing maneuvers, taking readings of solar wind as it leaves the heliopause.
