  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I know who Hebrews was written to. Now according to Heb 10:10,14 how were they sanctified and perfected forever ?

According to "Hebrews 10:10,14" only those who believe are being sanctified and perfected forever.

We are only secure in Christ as we are careful to remain faithful, for it is possible to fall from that secure position.

2 Peter 3:17
Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.

The professing Christian is only perfected as he keeps His word, and walks just as Lord Jesus walked.

1 John 2:5-6
5 But God’s love has most certainly been perfected in whoever keeps his word. This is how we know that we are in him: 6 he who says he remains in him ought himself also to walk just like he walked.

A person is only sanctified by faith in Lord Jesus.

Acts 26:18 ...they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.

What do you think “perfected” means in light of what the author of Hebrews said just 12 verses afterwards?

“For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:26-27‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

We can clearly see that those who continue to go on willfully sinning after receiving the Holy Spirit are in danger of God’s righteous judgement and wrath. We see the exact same example in Ephesians 4:17-32 and on into Ephesians 5:1-6.
Perfected means perfected, made complete. look up the word i the original. Christs death accomplished that for those He died for.

Again, you evading the issue, I know the writer of Hebrews was writing to believers, to them that partook of the heavenly calling Heb 3:1 ! Now according to the writer how were they sanctified and perfected forever ?

Nothing is being evaded by me. Rather, you are attempting to force your doctrine onto a verse that teaches nothing about being secure, sanctified or perfected before faith to make it contradict all the Scriptures that teach we are only secure, perfected and sanctified by faith in Lord Jesus and remaining faithful.

I have proven your error by the Scriptures I quoted that actually do teach that only by faith, and remaining faithful, are we secure, perfected, and sanctified.

Yes it is being evaded. Was Jeremiah sanctified before he became a believer ? Jer 1:5
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

No you didn’t address 2 Timothy 2:12 you gave no explanation about it. What you did was quote two other verses and dismissed 2 Timothy 2:12 based on what those verses said.
The verses I quoted were GOD'S answer to your incorrect conclusion about who 2 Timothy 2:12 was talking about.

The awful thing about those who deny eternal security is :
it says the merits of the obedience and death of Christ alone were not enough to save a person eternally but that the sinner must reinforce salvation. They dont consider eternal salvation 100% the Work of God ad His Grace !

Sanctified means: to be separate

  1. Sanctified, in the case of Jeremiah, means that God knew Jeremiah before he was born, and separated Jeremiah for a chosen purpose.
  2. Sanctified, in the New Testament Gospel, also means to separate, but in this case, God separated (sanctifies) onto himself for salvation those who will believe in Him at the hearing of the Gospel.
Acts 26:18 ...they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.

Lord Jesus said those words in the above Scripture, so who am I to argue with my Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ?
  • Do you want to tell Lord Jesus that He got it all wrong?
  • Do you want to teach Him how sanctification really works?
In the case if Jeremiah, God knew that Jeremiah would believe in Him before he was born, and separated Jeremiah for a specific task.

You misunderstand the Gospel.
  • Salvation is by faith in Lord Jesus.
  • Faith includes repentance from sin, and is demonstrated in a sanctified life onto righteousness. Only these are saved.
Romans 6:19-22 (NIV)
19 Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness (sanctification). 20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

Because it is simple to know, the ones who do as Jesus says believe in Him. It can hardly be shown the ones who do nothing of what Jesus did and said, have any belief in Him.

But because the thought is eternal salvation/saved, is that by continuing in the walk with Jesus, as He walked, or by also remembering how once saved, is told, was not always saved.

( to the person who thinks Jeremiah is example of chosen and saved always, sure, but that's why its told they will be there, but we don't know if we will, be)
Luke 13:28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out .

The example is to those who thought, because God saved them, that they are fine now, they all died, the men of war and that disputed with God in the wilderness, and that is our example to FEAR..

Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Again, Israel this time is broken off and the Gentiles chosen.

The Gentiles consider they can do as the countries God destroyed, and who Israel did worse than, by sinning and covering it all up. But, God says/showed no such thing, the judgement of God we see remained the same as always, if we boast, if we do not fear, if we be highminded, we ALSO SHALL BE CUT OFF..

Romans 11:18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

You misunderstand the Gospel and Salvation by Grace. Salvation, everything about it is 100 % of God, even the Believing, so if a saved person stops believing, thats stating a defect in Gods Salvation.

Those who Christ died for have been sanctified and perfected forever Heb 10:10,14 and Gods work is perfect Deut 32:4

He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Now you claim Gods work can be undone and one He once made perfect can defect into eternal perdition, thats a attack on Gods perfect work my friend, you need to abandon that God dishonoring belief, may God be pleased to deliver you my friend.

Im saying Jesus who is God, His work of sanctifying those He died for, perfected them forever, eternal security Heb 10:10,14. You apparently deny it, saying one for whom He died can eventually go to hell !
