  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So you are saying Lord Jesus is wrong, and you are right. You want to correct Lord Jesus?

Acts 26:18 ...they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.

John 15:10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.

Luke 21:19 By your endurance you will win your lives.
Looks like you are stuck. Consider the Perfect work of Christ Heb 10:10,14

Eternal Security is True and Falling away from the truth is impossible for the believing Sheep, for its promised that a stranger they will not follow Jn 10:4-5

4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

Now thats another Promise Christ makes for the Sheep that follow Him whom He gives Eternal life Jn 10:27-28

27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Now that they follow Jesus, its not possible for them to be deceived by false teaching Matt 24:24

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Notice how Lord Jesus makes very clear that His sheep are those who listen to and follow Him.
  • Only those who listen to and follow Him are His sheep.
  • The Sheep, the one's who listen to and follow Him, are promised eternal life.
John 10:26-29 (WEB) 26 But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep, as I told you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father who has given them to me is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

All Lord Jesus is saying is:

'You do not believe (continuous) because you are not my sheep.'

Lord Jesus did NOT say:

You cannot believe unless you are my sheep.

Lord Jesus is identifying the sheep that are His from those who are not His. The ones who do not believe are identified by Lord Jesus as not being the sheep the Father gave Him (compare vs. 26, vs. 29).

Only the sheep who believe (vs. 26) – synonymous with those who hear and follow Him (vs. 27) – are guaranteed eternal life (vs. 28), which are the sheep that the Father gives to the Son (vs. 29)

Looks like you are stuck. Consider the Perfect work of Christ Heb 10:10,14

The perfect work is for those who believe, the Christians for whom the letter was written.

What you want to do is prove Lord Jesus is wrong and you are right.

However, ignoring Lord Jesus and His words will not help, because everyone now knows you to do not believe Lord Jesus; rather, you believe in yourself.

Acts 26:18 ...they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.

Those who Christ died for are permanently sanctified, set apart for God, they are sanctified in Christ Jesus permanently 1 Cor 1:2

Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours

The word sanctified here also is perfect tense, passive voice, they have been once and for all sanctified, and they are in Christ Jesus, in which is no condemnation Rom 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Now Christ and them He sanctified by His Death Heb 10:10 are of One Heb 2:11

11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

They are eternally secure as their Head is, which is Christ !

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:1 shows us that those who are in Christ are those who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. These are the ones who are IN Christ.

If a professing Christian does not walk in the flesh, but instead walk by the Spirit, then that Christian is IN Christ, and are not under condemnation.

You are quoting Passages out of context. Other Passages explain HOW and WHEN we are sanctified. Anyone can quote an isolated Passage and then make it say whatever we want.

You have already made it know to all that you reject the words of Lord Jesus, and choose to play games with God's Word.

Only by faith demonstrated by walking in the Spirit, putting to death the misdeeds of the body, are we sanctified and saved.

Romans 8:3-4 (WEB)
3 For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh; 4 that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:12-13 (NIV) 12 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation — but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but IF by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

Galatians 6:7-9 (WEB) 7 Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up.

Romans 6:20-22 (WEB) 20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

Yes, Christ died for the ungodly, so that whosoever believes may be saved. That is the Gospel. You are only quoting half the Gospel to make it appear that everyone is saved.

John 3:16 (WEB) 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Lord Jesus gave His life for the ungodly, but as the Gospel states, the ones who believe are the ones saved by the blood of Christ Jesus.

By faith, confessing our sins, walking in the Light, we are washed, cleansed, from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7; 1 John 1:9; Acts 22:16):

1 John 1:7 (WEB) 7 But if we (believers) walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 1:9 (WEB) 9 If we (believers) confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

By faith, God sanctifies us:

Acts 26:17-18 (NIV) 18 that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

Through the Gospel Message, when we believe, we are turned from darkness to light (John 8:12; John 12:46), from the power of Satan to God – sanctified by faith in Lord Jesus.

Brightfame52: "Those who Christ died for have been sanctified and perfected forever Heb 10:10,14 and Gods work is perfect Deut 32:
Now you claim Gods work can be undone and one He once made perfect can defect into eternal perdition"

This is your own opinion, onto which you base your soul, should you not look into it as much as I just did for you ?

Begin here with me, the people of Israel, there with king David, offered with perfect heart to the Lord, David prayed to God, for God to keep forever that imagination ( of perfect offering/willingness) of Israel, and for God to prepare their hearts to God ( eventually in the new covenant of the law written in the heart) and to give Solomon a perfect heart, in keeping the commandments of God.

Solomon did well, but a greater than Solomon came which is our Lord Jesus Christ..

1 Chronicles 29:9 Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the Lord: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

1 Chronicles 29:18 O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee:
19 And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision.

Matthew 12:42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

Job, a perfect upright man, cursed his day once the trial came onto him.

We hear of the PATIENCE OF JOB, knowing we NEED TO ENDURE TO RECEIVE MERCY.

KNOWING THE TRIAL OF OUR FAITH, WORKS PATIENCE, WHICH LETS PATIENCE HAVE HER PERFECT WORK ( ON AND WITHIN US ) SO THAT WE MAY BE PERFECT AND ENTIRE AND NOTHING MISSING, BECAUSE AS ALL TESTIFIED ( AS I AM SHARING TO YOU AND TO ALL WHILE I AM ON THE FORUM FOR A LITTLE WHILE) WE HAVE NEED OF PATIENCE, THAT AFTER WE HAVE DONE THE (PERFECT) WILL OF GOD, Hebrews 13:21, YOU MIGHT INHERIT (RECEIVE) THE PROMISE ( OF ETERNAL LIFE) TO NOT BE SLOTHFUL, BUT, FOLLOWERS OF THEM WHO THROUGH FAITH AND PATIENCE INHERIT ( RECEIVE ) THE PROMISES..

Job 1:8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?
Job 3:1 After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day.

James 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

James 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Hebrews 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Hebrews 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

See the Lords word of judgement, how He spoke about being perfect in the ways, till iniquity was found in them.

That is Gods judgement given right there in Ezekiel, if we trust to our own righteousness, by beginning to commit iniquity, we shall die for it..

Ezekiel 28:14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Ezekiel 33:13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

Then we understand, we are perfect, in that perfect one, in Christ, which is also being made perfect in weakness, in illness and tribulations, so the power of Christ is on us, as Christ was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God, and we are weak in Him, but live by that same power of God in His sufferings and afflictions we must endure, as we have to prove the faith, and not be reprobates with no morals, which is the knowledge of Christ, to come to that perfect man...

John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 13:4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Now, here is exactly how that perfect man, and stature of Christ is and was achieved, as needed to be.

Christ is perfected by rising the third day.

Christ made perfect through suffering that death of the cross.

Then Him being made perfect, directs all who obey Him.

His offering of His body perfects them that are sanctified.

That is those who have the law of Christ written into their hearts to do the same love as Him, to have the sins forgiven.

Then, along with needing patience to inherit the promise/promises ( all requirements we need to fulfil in FEAR) after we have suffered a while, can make is also perfect and stablish us, but not if we think there is nothing we must do, which includes what I said for you already and you ignored, you be not highminded, but fear, or also will be cut off..

Luke 13:32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

Hebrews 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferiing.

Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Hebrews 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Hebrews 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Here is the cut off for everybody, as I am testifying for that cutting off soon, if you hear the word and do not do it, you have not looked and continued in that perfect law of liberty, and will not be blessed in your deed.

You were exhorted and warned, by God to be watchful and strengthen the things that remain ( of yourself) for they failed to be perfect before God..

James 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Revelation 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

Romans 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

You do know God is the living word and is with power, and is waiting to destroy all who deceive through His name ( which happens to be about everybody on earth) ?

Your idea is that we be perfected for all time, yet the hypocrisy comes form your own examples, without caring to see them, you saying they were sanctified, because it is past term here.

Fine, but, here is your error, they are beseeched to all be perfectly joined together and they are not, because it is reported there are divisions among them..

1 Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:

1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

Your other, and people try to use this verse as excuse, is that there is now no condemnation...

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

But the words of Jesus never pass, Heaven and earth does, and then, this is the condemnation, how men reject the light, how they needed to be reproved, needed patience, and to do the things, or being without fear, as all the example God ever gave us reveal, were cut off then, especially as the Son of man also was made perfect throogh the sufferings, how do you think you don't need to go through them and ENDURE/OVERCOME AS HE ALSO OVERCAME ( RUBBISH WISDOM OF THIS WORLD/FOOLISHNESS)........

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

MAYBE THE SHEEP ARE UNLIKE THE BEASTS, ( SHEEP FEAR ) THAT HAVE NO FEAR, SO THEY FEAR AND ESCAPE THE DANGER?

Job 41:33 Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.
34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.

Proverbs 14:16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Proverbs 27:12 A prudent man forseeth the evil, and hideth himself, but the simple pass on and are punished.

1 Peter 1:17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

Jude 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

Jude 1:10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Gods work is perfect, and those Christ died for are sanctified and perfected forever Heb 10:10,14

He gave His Life for the Sheep Jn 10 and they are perfected forever Heb 10:10,14 and they shall never perish.

Lord Jesus gave His life for the whole world, so that whosoever believes (the sheep) are saved by Lord Jesus' sacrifice of himself. That is the Gospel.

John 3:16 (WEB) 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

By faith we are sanctified and perfected.

We are washed from all sins as we walk in the light by faith in Lord Jesus:

1 John 1:7 (WEB) But if we (believers) walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

We are sanctified by faith in Lord Jesus

Acts 26:18 (WEB) 18 …they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me.

We are justified by faith.

Romans 5:1-2 (WEB) Being therefore justified by faith

All this is by God's grace, but is accessed by faith in Lord Jesus. That is the Gospel.

Romans 5:1-2 (WEB) Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; 2 through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand. We rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

The death of Jesus makes Him perfect, and if we are alive in sins, we are not dead, at all, or believing in being made perfect the same way, one of the sins is pride, hence why if highminded you will be cut off.

The Sheep are eternally secure, they shall never perish, because God the Father gave them to His Son Jn 10:29

29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

And likewise the Father gave them Him Jn 3:16. Jesus sanctified Himself for their sake Jn 17:17-20

17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

Christ prays for their preservation in the world Jn 17:15,20

15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

Christ prays they will be in Glory with Him Jn 17:24

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

He undertook to bring them to Glory Heb 2:10

10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

So they are eternally secure, they shall never perish !
