"Number one, there's no soldiers riding around you or behind you. So how am I supposed to know you are who you say you are? Secondly, I wouldn't care very much even if you are."

"Do the colors that I wear mean nothing to you then? These, you ignorant fool, are the colors of Galbatorix, the king!" Ringaard said, getting even more furious.

 

[Sapphiraleoht]

"There's one!" Teresa said pointing to an slightly old lady. "I have seen her before."

 

[Quantum X]

"Really? I seem to remember an old beggar who found a chest of gold and wore clothes which were that color. Besides, the king's colors are dark green, black and gray." Jaromir said.

((He's insulting the king now))

Ringaard's eyes flashed angrily. Then, through his teeth he said "Why you ingrate... Insult me and all you'll get is hurt."
Then, following up on the threat he swung his sword down mightily.

Liviella nodded and followed her going to the lady. The lady was dressed in black. She was squat and small. Wrinkles of immense age outlined her face and hands. Her hair was a dark, wispy grey. Her back was constantly haunched.

"Well, hello my children. How may I be of service?" The lady croaked, stopping with her sweeping. The cleanup had already begun in the village. That was the only thing to do when you were less than helpless.

"We were wondering if you knew about the legend of The Seal?" Liviella said, a bit reluctantly.

"The legend of The Seal, ay? Been a long time since I've heard that." She said breathily.

"It's apparent that you know the legend, but do you know about the fisherman, or his decendents?" Liviella asked, slightly anxtious.
It took her a while to answer, and when it came, it was slow, as if she was thinking every word before she said it. "I know very little past the legend, my dears. The only thing I can tell you is the fisherman's name, but that may not help you, for the name is common, and he had no last name. His name was Trent. I'm sorry I can't help you any more than that." Then her eyes grew suspicious. "May I ask you why you would need to know such trivialties? I mean it is only a legend. Surely it can't be true..."

"Of course. Only a legend. We were merely wondering. Thank you very much." Liviella agreed, mildly.

 

[Sapphiraleoht]

Teresa was suspicious. She knew more than just his name, much more. "excuse me" she said "Does he have any relatives that you might know about?"

 

[searchingsoul]

"Not that I know of..." The lady said flatly, indicating she shared all that she knew.

"C'mon, Teresa, We have enough information to start. Besides, it's useless to try luring out more information. They can be as stubborn as mules sometimes." Liviella muttered in her ear.

 

[Sapphiraleoht]

Teresa turned around began to walk the other direction once they were out of ear shot she looked at Liviella "I know that fortune teller can be suspicious, but..." Teresa looked at the fortuneteller, and sighed deeply.

 

[searchingsoul]

"Yah." Liviella said.

 

[Sapphiraleoht]

Teresa eyes widened "Um, I forgot about the swords." She said "Should I go get them?"

 

[searchingsoul]

"Yah, sure. I was only looking around. To see how business was doing." Liviella said, truthfully, but not the entire truth.

 

[Sapphiraleoht]

"Ok." Teresa started walking towards the store "excuse me sir but I'd like to buy those twin swords." she placed the money on the counter. He handed her the swords and she walked out the door. Sooner out of hear the better she thought to herself I hate this town.

 

[Quantum X]

Either he was one of the king's servants, or he was some idiot who pretended to be one. Jaromir didn't have time ti think about it, as Riingard drew his sword and swung down at him. Jaromir slid to the left, drawing his sword. The blow barely missed him. "Not very adult of you, getting offended so easily. Tsk... You'll have to learn to take teasing sonny."

 

[searchingsoul]

Ringaard growled, and swung he sword again, this time, grazing him slightly. Unfortunately, it was a mere scratch compared to what it would have done to a mere villager. Of course a mere villager would be too terrified to move and wouldn't dare insult the crown.

 

[Sapphiraleoht]

Teresa walked up to Liviella. "What do you think that we should do now?" She said putting the swords into a leather sword case.

 

[searchingsoul]

"Go as fast as we can. Two villages over, there should be a storyteller, who we can ask for information. Ringaard is bound to be in the next village, so we need to keep in front of him in order to find out what we need to know. He's dumb enough, were he hasn't thaught of this, and so he continues destroying villages in search for The Seal. Thus, we must keep to the shadows in this, because if he finds out, instead of searching for it himself, he'll just follow us and grab The Seal when we have it. Come on. Do you have a horse?"

Ringaard growled again, but, since he had somewhere better to be, he turned and continued to the next village. Meeting that ingrate had made him very angry indeed. So, before leaving, he did two things. One, he placed a tracing spell on his sword, so that he could find him later, and kill him. Two, he placed the grass around the man on fire(again, with magic).

((The spells Ringaard cast were in his mind.))

 

[Quantum X]

((Hold on... a tracking spell? I've never heard of that before... and why would riingard use it anyway? You'd think he'd just attack now. ?))

 

[searchingsoul]

((He doesn't really have time, becuase he's afraid that the more time it takes to find The Seal the more likely the king will find out. and that is his worst nightmare. He plans to deal with him later. I thaught I explained it in the post.))

 

[Quantum X]

((Okay whatever. But a tracking spell? That might ruin things quite a bit... When Jaromir joins up with your characters and Riingard knows they are trying to get the seal before him, he could secretly find out where they were going and pick up all the clues right after they were gone.))

((That's ok. I can have Liviella find out about the tracking spell and remove it.))
